Castell de Xàtiva Restaurant — Restaurant in Barcelona

Came here on a Friday night on the recommendation of our hotel.

The food was excellent. We had the seafood platter (lobster, shrimp, clams, and mussel) seafood paella along with the squid ink paella, fried calamari, grilled cuttle fish, and the maranaded sardines.

The squid ink paella and the grilled cuttle fish were by far the best out of everything we ate. Not that the rest of it was bad.

The service was good, too. Although that's probably because there wasn't anyone there, which was odd to us. Restaurant was clean.

All in all, along with drinks, came to 80 Euros. We were all stuffed and had a great time....

Preu menú Cap de Setmana, 25 o 28€, gran relació qualitat-preu. Carta, aprox 40€ - 50€ (varia segons si hi ha postres o/i vi)

La fama dels arrossos de Xàtiva és notòria, malgrat això no sé si ara la val. Hi ha plats que em van agradar molt (8/9) i d'altres insípids o ni fu ni fa, (5/6). El problema és que els que em van agradar menys van ser els arrossos.

D'inici vam fer unes faves amb xipirons (9) plat deliciós, per sucar-hi pa! Les postres, nota alta també, menció a una "Tatin" enorme (9), feta amb pomes senceres, al punt de dolç, al punt de textura, al punt de caramelitzada (pel seu estil), molt ben compensada (Fotos!)

De principal, vam demanar arrossos, és clar. Bacallà i cargols era el millor de tots, però havia de barrejar l'arròs perquè els gustos estaven poc conjugats (7) Arròs caldós (6), al meu entendre amb sobrecocció. Altres arrossos (5/6), també flirtejava algun amb la sobrecocció i no acabaven de tenir un gust gaire intens.

Vam tornar a les postres: poma al forn bona, pastís formatge (massa sucre com la majoria) gelat de torró bò.

El vi del menú molt millorable. Hi ha opcions molt assequibles i de millor qualitat. D'oblidable que era no li vaig fer ni foto. A la carta, poques opcions.

Nota pels turistes: si us plau no bebeu Sangria menjant...(només olives i patates xips)

El servei, atent i diligent, amb altibaixos i algun oblit sobre quin menú fèiem. Però bona nota. El local, ampli, espaiós, s'agraeix la separació de taules.

Hi tornaria per les favetes i la Tatin, tot esperant un millor dia...

Good service with a wide variety of good rice dishes that cater to all kinds of people. I recommend the Arroz de Caldoso as well as the paellas on the Signature Paella menu and the "Trinxat", a dish of fried things on top of a pan-fried egg. For the adventurous, they also have ingredients such as rabbit meat inside their Valencian Paella. The Sangria however, had a little too much red wine inside it.
