My mother in law, our family (muslim) and me (christian) were kicked out of the cathedral because my mother in law wanted to pray here (with her hijab), according to the securities only Christians are allowed to pray in this house of god (a former mosque!!!) My mother in law was told to pray in the streets instead. I can not recommend a visit until this issue is fixed. Also the employees in the cathedrals office hang up on you (twice), if you speak in english. We’ve never experienced this kind of racism in a religious institution and I’m sorry for all the Muslims that had to go through this in the past. Next to the cathedral they’re selling plates with ‘allah’ written in Arabic for 50€ but they treat Muslims like trash, unbelievable! The mercenary (securities) intimidated us with physical force and got loud on us, as we asked about their reasons to kick us out for wanting to pray in peace. Asking about the supervisor will bring you no where. In a touristic place like this no one speaks a word of English. They speak racism and physical force. Quiero expresar y denunciar varias ambigüedades que he visto en el monasterio de Santa María de las Escalonias en Hornachuelos. Estuve de postulante allá por el año 93 creo recordar, no mucho tiempo. Conocí al santo hermano Florencio con quien trabajé codo a codo, podando los naranjos del monasterio. Desde entonces, cada vez que voy a este monasterio, lo encuentro peor. Un padre superior que parece un relaciones públicas, charlando por los codos ante la presencia de Jesús sacramentado sin ningún tipo de respeto. Hay que tener contentas a las señoras bienhechoras. Lamentable. Vergonzoso. Lo dice un católico padre de familia. He visto a un monje de votos solemnes pelando la pava literalmente con la cocinera de la hospedería. Hablando de mundanidades. Ocioso. Los monjes se retiran del mundo para buscar a Dios en el silencio. Pacotillas Me duele como católico ver esto en la Iglesia. Mundanidad en los conventos. Falta de vocaciones. Qué hemos hecho de la Iglesia ! Descafeinando los monasterios no se consiguen más vocaciones. El joven no encuentra en la Iglesia la verdadera vocación de...
