The Pattern Thai Massage — Local services in Chiang Mai Province

Found this place on Google maps and chose it for the good reviews.

What’s good: The 60 min body oil massage was really good. Masseuse was understanding and kind, and followed my preference for gentler massage.

Price is reasonable for the quality of massage.

Feedback to note: Reserved for only one person massage. When I arrived, I asked if my partner could wait in the sitting area for me. The manager did not seem happy with that. He did not speak rudely, but his body language and facial expression showed annoyance. This was enough to make a guest feel unwelcome.

After clarification with the manager, it was explained that I should have informed that there will be a “massage for one pax, one pax waiting”.

It was advised that my partner do a massage so that he could wait in the private room instead of the sitting area. However, this situation is unique as my partner was not up for massage (not comfortable).

Most groups and couples would all do massages together. But if you’re like me, do take note of the above for smoother check-in. This would avoid misunderstanding.

Conclusion: While it is reasonable to understand that the massage parlour needs to free up the sitting area for paying massage guests, perhaps an alternative script would be, “Feel free to wait in our sitting area; however you would have to give up your seat for paying guests should they come in.” A guest would understand that, not to over-impose and would cooperate with that...

I saw the advertisement for The Pattern Thai Massage on FB. I looked at the reviews and the pictures. I decided to ride to their location and see if it was where I wanted to receive a good massage. Kit, the manager was quick to greet me and he was very friendly. I told him that I was looking for a 2 hour oil massage with a male therapist. I had not originally intended for it to be right away. He gave me a bottle of water and made a phone call. Fifteen minutes later I was ready for the massage. The therapist, Ton was great. The important things for me......checking that I was comfortable with the temperature of the room and what pressure I wanted were addressed. The setting is great.......no city noise and quiet. When the massage was completed I was given some warm tea and crackers and a banana. Kit was great and Ton was great as well. I will certainly be returning to visit...

I sat and read a book here while my wife got an hour Thai massage with oil.

The staff was very hospitable. They helped me get set up with a fan, bug spray, apple bananas, and water while I read at the table. Even the owner May came out to say hi!

The reason I can only give 4 stars is because my wife did not love her massage. She told me the masseuse spent very little time on her feet, like she had an aversion to feet. My wife also mentioned that she would not choose the oil massage at this place next time. Apparently, the masseuse would spend time wiping the oil off with a towel each time she applied it, and my wife wished she would spend that time giving the massage instead.
