SO-U NAIL & HAIR Salon Pattaya — Local services in Pattaya City

My friend and I found this place because it’s nearby and was decently priced for a hair wash & blow dry INCLUDING styling (as per menu). We wanted to get our hair styled and curled for our friend’s wedding that evening. A slight fault on our end, as we didn’t clarify that at the start even though we had already opted in for the hair wash & blow dry. When we entered, the stylists immediately got us started and we assumed that after the blow dry, they would style our hair accordingly. But to my friend’s surprise, when she was done first, her stylist directed her to the cashier and so we asked if we could have our hair styled (we both wanted soft curls). And when we showed them reference pictures of what we wanted, the ladies in the shop told us that curls required the curling iron and would be an additional 300 baht!!! If we wanted a simple wash and blow dry, we could have easily done that back in our hotel instead of paying 500+ baht for it. We tried to explain to them that the menu literally states: “Wash & Blow Dry includes hair cleanse, condition, and full blow-dry with curling and/or straightening in any style” but they seemed to not understand and continued to insist that if we wanted curls, we had to top up. So my friend tried to bargain and manage to drop the extra cost to 200 baht (on top of the 500+ we were already paying) but we had to take turns because they only had one curling iron… I was also quite shocked that they didn’t leave any sort of hair spray to hold the curls especially after we mentioned we were getting our hair done for a wedding (we didn’t dare to ask as the ladies were in such an unpleasant mood that we worried they would charge us extra for hair spray too), so the moment we walked out of the shop and in the mere 5 minute walk back to our hotel, our curls were gone. So we topped up for nothing. This was truly the most disappointing and useless service I’ve ever received anywhere in my life, and I can’t believe the salon is rated so highly (which is why I chose it in the first place). I think there is potential to be a good salon as the space is already so nice, and the ladies do a decent job, but please alter the descriptions in the menu as you are literally scamming people. You also could have handled our situation with more compassion and kindness, but instead all 3 ladies got upset about it and gave us a really hard time. Painful and Unprofessional Experience

I travel often and get my hair washed weekly, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. I came in for a simple wash, but the stylist was so aggressive it felt like she was scratching my scalp, neck, and forehead. She didn’t wash my hair properly and left it full of tangles, more than I’ve ever had.

When drying, she used no heat protection, didn’t brush it beforehand, and used the wrong brush, causing so much of my hair to fall out. She didn’t section it, so my hair was uneven and not properly straightened.

Despite booking 40 minutes in advance, she was sitting on her phone and had to be told to start. She was unfriendly and unwelcoming, which ruined the vibe of an otherwise beautiful salon. Truly disappointing.

I spent 2 days here to get my hair done for my birthday party, but the result was really bad. The first day I came and I showed them the hairstyle I wanted to do which was “Balayage” and then I was not satisfied because it did not look at all like the picture I showed them before. I had to spend another day so they could fix it but what I got was really horrible, the 2 people who did my hair they really had no experience, I don’t know if they have any ethics in the industry.
