Grottino Osteria Pizzeria in Pattaya. This Italian spot used to be on Soi 33, Naklua, but they packed up and moved to North Pattaya Road Soi 4, reopening on July 18, 2024. They’ve got that legit Italian vibe with stone oven pizzas, tasty pastas, fresh salads, and a solid wine list.
Now, about the food:
Four Cheese Pizza: This pie is a cheese lover’s dream. The blend of cheeses melts perfectly, giving you that gooey, savory goodness in every bite. The crust is on point—crispy on the outside, soft inside.
Ossobuco: Their ossobuco is straight-up fire. The slow-cooked veal shank is tender and flavorful, practically falling off the bone. Paired with a rich, savory sauce, it’s a must-try if you’re into hearty Italian dishes.
Spaghetti with Clams: This dish is all about fresh flavors. The spaghetti is cooked al dente, and the clams are fresh, adding a nice briny kick. Tossed in a light garlic and olive oil sauce, it’s simple but delish.
Peroni Beer: To wash it all down, grab a Peroni. This Italian lager is crisp and refreshing, with subtle hoppy notes that complement the food without overpowering it.
Overall, Grottino’s new spot is killing it with authentic Italian eats and a chill atmosphere. Whether you’re craving pizza, pasta, or something meaty, they’ve got...
Read moreThree (!) leading guys here are genuine Italian ragazzi and no fake, and this alone creates the atmosphere that is as important as the food itself, an Italian atmosphere, their freshness a relief for people living in South-East-Asia, or Pattaya. Sweet Italians, the chef and the waiter and the cook, spirited as if being in the midst of an old city in the Toscana. Their joy and fun in their work goes over to the Thai employees who are equally enjoying their work and behave as if they were Italians. Pure Italianità here! Never seen a fresh place like this one elsewhere in Thailand. I always have the same here, a salad as starter and then the fritto misto as main, it is an excellent mixture of seafood and fish on the plate, and would miss it if not being able to get it again. Meeting the chef sometimes at the close fish-market, I know that fish here couldn't be fresher. Mid-expensive, well, I enjoy two carafes of house wine with it, and that is just part of a fine Italian meal. Count 1400 Baht for a splurge. It will not only relax you, but make you happy for the complete week. This is a place to...
Read moreThis is an amazing Italian restaurant, likely the best in the city. It is situated near terminal 21, a short walk from the beach road, and on a major baht bus route.
It specialized in amazing thin crust pizza, I have tried 4 different pizzas now, a different one for every visit. Each one was great, and presented only minutes from ordering. Of course it offers other famous Italian dishes, from seafood to pastas. The menu is large and sure to have something for everyone. They have a good selection of wines, and liqueurs as well. You can eat on the patio, or inside (I like the AC), it is clean, and a nice looking place overall.
The staff are friendly and polite. I spoke with Francesco, the co-owner(?), He was very helpful and friendly despite being very busy, and found the time to join us briefly with complimentary shots of very nice limoncello (the good stuff, not like what's in Canada LCBO)
I highly recommend this location to anyone in the mood for...
