I only decided to partake in the spa experience. Thumbs down time ten especially as an African American woman. The woman who is constantly cleaning the floor (keep in mind being a very tourist place but know extremely little English) clocking me and paying attention to me the entire time. No one else. There is no direction, signs, and lack of information. No one tells you where water is to drink, no tour, but anyway back to how I was treated by the woman who is mopping constantly. We get a raggedy towel and hand towel and a top and shorts for your scheduled massage or whatever. You also get a black net covering for your chest and black net panty booty shorts. So I bought my swimsuit and a change of clothes with me to be on the safe side because again I don't know what to expect. So I put my swimsuit on and proceed to the water, no she raises her voice almost like scolding me like a child(keep in mind I'll be 49 before this year is over) about no swimsuits allowed so I go back to my locker and place the netted chest covering and drawers on so I'm really pretty much naked. Ok... so I take my towel wrap it around my body and proceed through the sliding doors to the different pools... she then proceeds to scold me and yell about sit down on this seat which is created for a 2 year old to shower off and clean feet... so I then struggle to get down to do that (keep in mind there are 2 showers on the opposite side she could've told me to use to wash up before getting in. I have no problem doing that. So back to the story....I wash my feet and sprayed myself down. I place my towel on this concrete seat looking round thing before I step into the jetted tub. She moved my towel without letting me know. Note... there is no hooks or any direction where to place your towel. ( please keep in mind this is a tourist place, kids enjoying foam party in the pool, wave pool etc etc, people come to this establishment by the bus loads) ok back to the story. So I'm in there for maybe a good 2 hours....I tried all the pools in this spa, this woman keeps eyeing me while cleaning so I finally see a clock on the wall in the back pools that are behind sliding doors.... you won't know what time it is if you have anything else scheduled i.e massage etc etc. So I finally get out and where is my only towel since there are no extra towels anywhere. So I make my pretty much naked body towards the locker area. I would like to rinse off but the only showers are occupied by a woman and her child. So I proceed to the same area and take the spray gun to rinse off, she is still watching me. I'm also leaving because I'm extremely thirsty. Walking around wow, I see cups and a short metal box... ok let's assume that's water, *keep in mind no one tells you ANYTHING... ok back to the story. So I proceed to my locker, keep in mind still don't know where my towel is.... oh yeah going through the slider I see a towel tucked in between the wall and a spray station...I didn't think anything about it. I go to my locker and proceed to use this hand towel/ wash cloth size material and start drying myself off. She hands me a towel that was a bit wet, assuming it's mine because I asked her where my towel was and comes and walks towards me in a few seconds and hands me the towel... guys I know it was the one tucked up against the wall. So me keeping my anger under control and don't say anything nasty or disrespecting I proceed to dry off as much as possible, I put on the wrap around top and shorts on...I still have that netting on. Ok I'm not fully dry... I'm not going into the toilet to change or go in a room where women are putting in makeup.... so I then ask where is the relaxation room... and points to the direction So I go there. You don't get anything for your feet throughout the entire spa upstairs and downstairs.... very uncomfortable, not even the thin flip flops you tend to get when you get a pedicure in the US.... ok back to the story. I go to the relax area... people are sleeping in the floor...ok... so I...
Read moreSpace themed hotel located near multiple malls. Property is new so things are relatively undamaged. The facilities are very picturesque and most of the staff are very friendly. The buffet has a wide variety of food, including made to order items. The onsen has an impressive selection of baths and there are staff that constantly ensure the cleanliness and usability of the facilities. The hotel takes a lot of consideration in terms of design for public space, but there are certain aspects that definitely need improvement.
There is a small ledge that separates the washroom from the rest of the room. However, this unfortunately means you'll stub your toes the first few times walking out of the washroom. Service is a little poor or perhaps the staff were uncoordinated. We attempted to order room service but were transferred multiple times until the 4th or 5th person disconnected. This indicates to me that there are inadequacies in their approach to placing food orders.
At the water park, where everyone doesn't have a wallet, they expect you to pay with cash, bank app, or Visa. Guests of the hotel will have a wristband with our room numbers. After a lengthy discussion with the staff and explaining that we did not have cash in our swimtrunks, they very unwillingly processed the transaction as a room charge. This behaviour is problematic as it creates a highly unpleasant mood for guests. There were no explanation as to why the staff did not want to charge to the room yet some staff will assist you where others wouldn't.
At the onsen, where everyone is expected to bathe fully nude and change into their outfits, they also requested that we pay on the spot. Again, this as an awkward interaction as I am not proficient in the art of prison wallets. If there was an expectation for guests to carry around cash, it would be prudent to remind guests or put a sign somewhere. The most frustrating thing is, even if you were to look at it as a mitigation from losses due to guests who cannot pay, the food is pretty cheap and you would get sick from eating before you can rack up a bill that would become a concern. For 2 people, we couldn't eat and drink more than $40. Who stays at a hotel and upgrades to the onsen package yet potentially cannot afford a tiny tab like that?
The space tokens are a bit of a scam. There are no signs that indicate you cannot purchase additional tokens or use money to top up to the redemption items. If that was communicated to us early on, we would have redeemed food items instead of trying to purchase souvenirs. You cannot top up, but you can fully use cash to purchase the items.
In the elevators, there is a vertically mounted television that displays a cute imagery of their characters floating in space. However, the loop is short and several elevator cabs had a frozen screen. This seems to be a very easy fix for a hotel that placed so much attention to detail in most other aspects of appearance.
Overall, I found that it was a pleasant stay and it's worth experiencing. However, there were numerous issues that this property should sort out. Guests would have a really good time if they did not attempt to spend any additional money on-site since that's where most of the issues arise, and the attention to detail is definitely something that higher end hotels...
Read moreWe just spent three days at Grande Center Point Pattaya with our 3-year-old, and honestly, this place exceeded our expectations. Coming from Bangkok, the location couldn't be better. It's right as you enter the city, so the drive is quick and painless, which matters a lot when you're traveling with a toddler.||One of the biggest wins for us was the location itself. It's in North Pattaya, away from the seedier areas the city's known for, which made us feel completely comfortable as a family. We were within walking distance of Terminal 21 mall and plenty of restaurants, but the hotel had everything we needed so we barely left.||The real star here is the private water park. It's massive (around 12,000 square meters) and split into different themed zones like the Mountain Zone and Space Pirate Beach. But here's the kicker: it's only for hotel guests. That meant we could relax and let our son play without worrying about our stuff or dealing with huge crowds. The peace of mind alone was worth it.||The whole hotel has this fun space theme going on. It's not over the top, but the sci-fi design touches, lighting, and architecture make it feel special without being cheesy. Our son thought he was staying on a spaceship, which kept him entertained.||Our room was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean. Good air conditioning (important in Pattaya), comfortable beds, and all the tech worked properly. No complaints there.||For parents who want some downtime, they have a sea-view onsen and spa (apparently Thailand's first), a proper gym, and even a kids' club called Astro Club where our son made some friends. There's also an arcade and game rooms, though we didn't spend much time there since the water park kept him busy.||We ate most of our meals at the hotel restaurants. The rooftop spot, Sola Luna, had great views and good food. Nothing Michelin-star, but solid options and convenient when you don't want to drag a tired kid out for dinner.||A few small things to note: The hotel is big, so there's some walking involved. Service was friendly but sometimes a bit slow during busy times. And while the water park is amazing, it can get crowded during peak hours (weekends, holidays), so plan accordingly.||Overall, this is hands down the best family hotel we've stayed at in Pattaya. Clean, safe, fun for kids, and actually relaxing for parents. We're already planning...
