I am staying at the Woodlands resort and the restaurant "La Ferme" is well advertised on their website to be one of their restaurant and reading the reviews I wanted to try for myself. I had diner on my first night, was tired after a long flight and decided to go for a main dish "the famous roasted chicken". First I wanted to make sure I could put my meal on my main hotel bill...but guess what..No you can't?? I have travel the world and first time ever that a restaurant part of an hotel would not allow me to put it on my room..so if you stay at Woodlands resort make sure you have plenty of cash or a credit card. Now let's talk about the "Chicken"... well I think their chef needs some culinary lessons...the chicken is supposed to be roasted..right? The skin tasted like the chicken had been boiled...white..no colour...the chicken itself was absolutely tasteless. Also I ordered the half chicken and would have expected no less, however all I got was a bit of breast and the wing...the chicken leg had all disappeared. Hollandaise sauce served on the side had far too much vinegar in it and for the "Tarragon" forget about it. Now for the fries served on the side...no better than fries you would get at a McDonald's..and I was able to count them all on the 10 fingers of my hands...yes that's right..just about 10 fries fighting each other in a small bowl..how pathetic. I have myself worked in some of the best restaurants in the UK and I really don't like to criticise but common.."La ferme" sort it out. As for the prices..for what you get, no sorry. Unfortunately I am unable to recommend this restaurant at all, regrettable as I was expecting so much from it. Thanks...
Read moreA very disappointing experience. poor service: inattentive and forgetful. We had to ask for the same thing three times for it to be served and we have to walk over to a waiter to ask for it, they did not bother looking at our table at all. My friend was served a dish and after she had taken her first bite, a waitress come over and asked her if the dish was hers, all the while picking up dish while my friend’s utensils were on the plate even though my friend said that she had ordered it and we are all certain that she did. We had waited for the dish for almost 25 minutes and that was the first order that was served. Nonetheless, the waitress took the dish and started to walk over to another table with the utensils on it and a missing spoon full of food! Luckily another server walked over and told the waitress to return the dish to us. The waitress behavior was absurd and unacceptable. She did not even apologize. poor food taste: we ordered Beef ragout pasta which taste like canned food, Spaghetti vongole which screamed SALT, PEPPER, and FISHY SHELLS, Some seafood soup that taste like a handful of frozen seafood was thrown into watered down seafood stock- bland and sad:( (to think that it was one of the restaurant’s best selling dishes). A complete waste of...
Read moreWent to La Ferme twice during my recent trip to Pattaya. We had a large group during our first visit (15 pax) and we were ok with the long wait for food.
Our 2nd visit wasn't ideal - 4 pax, ordered 4 mains and it took about 40 mins for the first 2 mains to arrive. The last main - Khao Soi arrived about 60 mins later after 1 or 2 reminders - we were also told 50 mins in that the original noodles for Khao Soi was sold out - and if we were ok to have another type of noodle. We were at the restaurant close to 12pm and it was quite quiet when we arrived.
Khao Soi is a noodle dish - it shouldn't have taken 60 mins for it to be prepared and served. They were also sold out of pizzas at 12pm . Their beef Khao Soi is good though!
Service was patchy - as dependent on who you got. We had a really nice waiter who took our order and some of the other service staff had to be reminded once or twice for our drink orders / extra cutlery and etc.
Expensive by local standards i believe - would be ideal to have a shorter wait for food especially when the restaurant isn't too busy and timing the mains at the same time where possible especially for...
