Şişhane Kebap & Döner — Local services in Şişli

Came here fairly late 10pm in the evening with my son to get some takeaway food to hotel room, as he wanted to have "real Turkish kebab experience". Well, we sort of got it as Ali put up a real show, coming to hug me the momne twe got in, and then also making a show with my son. We said we wanted some ("a small portion") of takeawau for three, so Ali got carried away and said he will make a good mixed kebab for us, telling one eash of them all, except three adanas and three käfte "because they are so small", no matter of me trying to hold him back. Well, we thought that is his show and got along. Then rice (which I firmly took down to one portion) and salad and drinks. They gave us the traditional cup of tea each and we looked them build the order, and then after a while Ali said that mixed kebab is 600TLY each, plus drinks and sides. So 1800 + about 250 or something like that. Yes, the "plate" looked great but I told we can nto eat that all, and that I said "small" and offered 1000TLY which was not accepted. Then we started haggling and I said they can take away what they do not thin my price doe snot cover. Finally, they gave us about half of the kebab plus sides and I gave them 1200 TLY. The drinks I said we can get from elsewhere (a kiosk on the way to hotel sells cans 15-20TLY per piece) but they tossed them int our bag anyway, thkns for that.

Ali, if you read this, please note that we came for a portion of adana plus a portion of something else, and it would have been great to taste your liver kebab, but we did not have even one piece of that in our meal. But I have to say that the food which we ate in our hotel room was exceptionally good, no question about that.

So, I think my son got a real Turkish kebab experience, and he agrees. I do recommend this place for the food, just make sure to know what you order and agree the price...

I've tried the adana kebap and mixed grill here, and I enjoyed both a lot.

The adana kebap was the best, and I'd definitely be getting some from here whenever I return to Istanbul.
