Feriköy Antika Pazarı — Local services in Şişli

I would describe this "antik çarşı" as more of a "bit pazarı" (flea market).

There is a lot to look at and if you have the patience to thoroughly scour the numerous tables and, in some cases, piles of items, you just may actually find something you like!

Be prepared for sticker shock! There were several items we liked but when we asked the price, we were told a price 10 times what we were willing to pay! And unlike traditional markets, prices were not up for negotiation!

My partner and I did find a beautiful pendant at a reasonable price! And I found some old pre-WWII German coins as a souvenir for my son.

For lunch we sat down and had some very wonderful (and reasonably priced) gözlemenand fresh squeezed orange juice!

Over all, a very entertaining time...

Feriköy Flea Market is the largest market of it's kind in Istanbul. A smaller one also opens on Sundays at Kadıköy. Feriköy Flea Market is located at Bomonti, opens at 09:00 Sunday mornings. Be there not later than 10:00, because it will get very crowded later on. İnitially I was expecting something similar to Portobello London, but it turned out to be a lesser reality. %70 of the articles on sale can be classified as garbage. Wow.....this pazar is great...this is the first organized, well curated antique pazara we have visited in Turkey....and we've been to many....normally we find the antique market here not to be well organized but this pazar was awesome....so many treasures and the sellers were overall very friendly and willing to bargain ...we will definitely go again! But bring a sturdy bag if travelling by foot! Also, don't shop with large bills.....it makes bargaining...
