This small neighborhood book store is a gem hidden in Istanbul’s posh neighborhood Nisantasi in the downtown area in the high end shopping and restaurants’ street of Abdi Ipekci Caddesi. Located in the under passage of the landmark building Reussurans, for the past 17 years, it serves book lovers, who lost similar friendly bookshops after the giant chain bookstores wiped them off, in its nostalgic well decorated store full of Turkish and foreign language, mostly English, books. It has the greatest collection of big size coffee table art books. It offers iconic Cornucopia collection as well daily foreign language newspapers and magazines. Its friendly staff takes orders for titles that you are searching and delivers them speedily. It is a pure joy to sit in this stylish shop on their elegant leather sofa, sip coffee from their soft drinks bar and surf through the pages of the books that you select. It's maybe past due time to write a review about 3 years after visiting this elegant bookstore located in a small shopping center. Patika is neatly arranged, has friendly staff and meticulously embellished with huge collections. It sowcases wide range of books, magazines, journals and other printed media from architecture to philosophy and photography that you probably may have a hard time to find elsewhere not in Turkey, but in the surrounding countries! They're also the official distributor for several renowned publishers such as Taschen which was my main reason to check on them. Definitely will pay a visit again when back...
