I was highly disappoint with my experience at Nusr Et. I live in Canada, and was excited to come and get the full Nusr Et experience, especially the table side deboning and salting. Upon arriving we ordered 2 meat dishes - one was for somebody with a nut allergy, and did not have a bone or include salt, and one was for other members of the party. We confirmed that this one would be deboned and salted at the table, and actually watched the table beside us get this experience with this same dish. However, when our dish arrived there was no bone, and our server did not offer to salt our dish. After hastily cutting it she promptly left. A few minutes later we asked the next server who passed why this hadn’t been deboned or salted. He wasn’t sure, as the dish usually should come with that option, and proceeded to awkwardly sprinkle salt on our now cold and half eaten dish with his bare ungloved hands. After we ate we were very upset, and asked the manager why our meat was deboned in the kitchen rather than at our table, and why our server did not salt it. Apparently the nut allergy (which was only one member of one party, who we had told our server would not even be eating that dish) had been misconstrued as a cilantro allergy, and the words for cilantro and bone are similar in turkish. So the kitchen accidentally deboned our steak, and put cilantro on top. Not only did this mistake ruin the dining experience, but had there been a real cilantro allergy, a member of our party would have been dead. To make up for this, they simply suggested we should come again and spend another few hundred dollars with them. They also told us that it was a good thing that our experience had been ruined, because the dish we ordered wasn’t even that good. They said we should come again, and next time order the more expensive steak because it tasted better. Needless to say, we did not go back, and I wouldn’t recommend anybody else go to this location either. Worst meal we had...
Read moreNusr-Et Nişantaşı: Unmatched Meat Quality, Service Needs Refinement Nusr-Et's enduring success undeniably stems from its unwavering commitment to exceptional meat quality. Whether indulging in their signature steaks or their delectable burgers, the consistency is remarkable. I'm consistently impressed by their ability to maintain such high standards across all their locations, including the Nişantaşı branch. It's no secret that Nusr-Et is a premium dining experience, and the price point reflects that. However, for those seeking top-tier meat, the quality justifies the cost. I've experienced their offerings at various times, from brunch to dinner, and the quality never wavers. While the food is undeniably a highlight, the service experience could benefit from some adjustments. I believe a more approachable and refined customer service style would significantly enhance the overall dining atmosphere. While the staff is efficient, a warmer, less transactional demeanor would be more welcoming. Furthermore, the overt expectation of tips felt somewhat uncomfortable. In Turkish culture, tipping is a gesture of appreciation, given freely. The direct, almost demanding glances from the waitstaff created an awkward atmosphere. It would be far more preferable if the service naturally elicited tips, rather than creating an uncomfortable dynamic. In essence, Nusr-Et Nişantaşı delivers on its promise of outstanding meat quality. With some improvements in service approach and a more relaxed attitude towards tipping, it could truly become a flawless dining destination. I recommend the experience for the food quality, but suggest the staff to work on their customer...
Read moreOverall, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the restaurant itself, but we felt that the presentation of the dishes lacked the special touch we were expecting. We had specifically asked for the dishes to be served as the chef usually presents them.. We were hoping for a bit more flair and a sense of celebration in the way the food was brought to the table.
The meat was good—fresh, high-quality, and well-prepared—but nothing extraordinary. No special sauces, no unique garnishes, just well-cooked meat. It was tasty, but for the price, we expected something more impressive. In the end, what you’re really paying for is the brand and the name of the restaurant.
Another thing that wasn’t ideal was the wait upon arrival. Our reservation was at a certain time, and even though we arrived late, we still had to wait to be seated. There were plenty of available tables, so it didn’t seem necessary to make us wait, even if it wasn’t for long.
We also noticed that the cutlery wasn’t always appropriate for the dishes we ordered—for example, we were given steak knives for a salad, which felt a bit off. Small details like this matter in a restaurant of this level.
The setting was beautiful, and we did enjoy the experience overall. A special thanks to our waiter, Murathan—he was attentive and very kind .
One last note: while we made a reservation in advance, it turned out to be unnecessary. The restaurant wasn’t full at all—one section was completely empty, and the one we were seated in was about half full.
In summary, it’s a nice place to visit once for the experience, but considering the price, it’s not somewhere we’d rush...
