My family and I had a wonderful time at Clay of Cappadocia. Mehtin is very good at giving instructions for us who were completely new at pottery. The pottery workshop is also located in a beautiful hotel and in a cave which is very cool. However you should take note of the following which we would have appreciated knowing beforehand!

Your product will not be fired in the kiln, which means it cannot get wet and will still be soft for a few days. I would not have chosen to make a bowl if I had known that!

What you made will remain quite soft and pliable, and will likely misshapen as you make your way back to your hotel. If you try to shape it back later, it might crack (my son and mine did).

Your art will take a few days for it to really harden. Make sure you take it out once you get back to your hotel to let it air dry. We left Cappadocia the next day so when we took our art out of the suitcase, my son’s pencil holder was completely broken, my bowl was cracked but my husband’s bowl and my daughter’s vase were fine.

What an amazing experince we had , all thanks to our pottery master Mehtin. He was such an amazing skilled 4th generation potter. He was so good in guiding my daughter to an incredible candle holder and my wife to a wonderful vase. Its truly and unforgettable experience for us. Its not as cheap as the other workshops but he made every lira/euro worth it. I will strongly recommend this if u re in Cappadocia, especially if u have kids who wants an unforgettable experience.Never will u regret this.

Mehtin was amazing with us and our daughter. As usual most workshops have add ons. Most I thought was reasonable. We elected to just paint an existing item. This was $50 on top of our fee which I thought was a little too much. However it was a great workshop, he picked us up. He is a family owned business and this was private so all in all we had a great experience and I think in general it was pretty good price. There family has a store in Avanos but the workshop...
