The owner was incredibly kind and hospitable. As tourists traveling in Turkey, we make it a point to order a salad with every meal to get enough vegetables. The moment we mentioned ordering one, the owner stopped us and insisted he would provide a complimentary salad, adding that we could always order more if it wasn't enough. True to his word, the salad arrived accompanied by five or six small plates of appetizers and side dishes (meze), including Turkish chili paste and pickles. We had tried a few restaurants the first day we were here and it was very disappointing but on the second day we stumbled upon this jewel. As soon as we sat down we were served fresh bread and the most delicious house-made pickled vegetables which I became obsessed with and will miss in the states. The food is simply outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. I had the stuffed vine leaves (sarma) in a clay dish, which were incredibly rich and perfectly seasoned.
