I recently had the incredible opportunity to experience the Empty Quarter Safari, and I must say, it was truly unforgettable. Our guide, Basith, was exceptional from start to finish. His deep knowledge of the Rub’ al Khali and the fascinating stories he shared about its history and culture added so much depth to the experience. It was clear that he had a genuine passion for the desert, and his ability to answer every question with ease and enthusiasm made the tour all the more engaging.

Our trip started in the morning and Basith reached our place on time. After and hour and a half of driving thorugh abu dhabi we grabbed lunch and then after some more driving we entered our first desert point. We spent 45 minutes maneuvering through the dunes.

The dune dashing in a 4x4 vehicle was absolutely thrilling! Basith’s driving skills were top-notch—he expertly maneuvered the towering dunes with precision and confidence, ensuring both an exhilarating and safe ride for everyone in the vehicle. The adrenaline rush was perfectly balanced with moments of awe as we paused to take in the breathtaking scenery.

We then took rest at an oasis. Had lunch and the host served some arabic tea and dates. We also chanced a visit to camel farm nearby and saw some gazelles as well. Then for the evening stretch we went deeper into Rub al khali desert.

The sun-kissed dunes of the Rub’ al Khali were nothing short of magical. The endless waves of golden sand seemed to stretch into eternity, creating a serene and almost otherworldly atmosphere. As the sun cast its warm glow over the landscape, the dunes shimmered in a palette of amber and gold, offering picture-perfect moments at every turn. We enjoyed some sandboarding too along with enjoying the sunset views.

After sunset we then went to see the moreeb dune which was breathtaking. Overall we enjoyed this tour.

It was a truly memorable experience and a must do when you are in Abu Dhabi. This Desert Safari including the overnight stay was in the desert of Liwa. We were very lucky to have Basith as our guide as some of my friends recommended me to have him as the guide for the trip.

The package was a day tour including the overnight stay in the desert in tents. Basith was there with us from the start. He picked us up from the hotel and we started the trip. It was a first time experience for us to have a drive through the desert. We have only read about it in travel vlogs and saw about them in YouTube videos. But to have a real journey through the desert was overwhelming. Basith was a cheerful guy and detailed us about many things about the desert and the nomadic life there.

After crossing a lot of ups and downs through the sand dunes, we reached at the place where we were supposed to camp in the night. On the way, we had stopped at a couple of places to take photos and we got chances to take photos with wild camels. Basith was always ready to help with taking us group photos and all.

The overnight stay in the desert is one of its kind. I would say, one must experience this in their lifetime. Basith has done the whole housekeeping stuff including setting up the tents, taking care of our luggage, and also preparing a delicious BBQ for us. We sat in the night by the camp fire and had a wonderful time. The next day, Basith woke up early and arranged for our small breakfast. After having breakfast, we started our return journey back to Abu Dhabi. On our way back, we were able to see the tallest sand dune at Tel Moreeb. We spent a little time taking photos and all.
