Kabab Erbil Iraqi restaurant is one of the most popular Iraqi restaurants in Abu Dhabi, and for good reason. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Kabab Erbil, and I was thoroughly impressed.
For my main course, I had the kabab mishwi, a mixed grill of lamb and chicken kebabs. The kebabs were cooked over charcoal and were perfectly seasoned. They were served with a side of hummus and pita bread, which were both excellent as well.
I also had the opportunity to try some of Kabab Erbil's appetizers and desserts. The falafel and baba ghanoush were both delicious, and the baklava was the perfect way to end my meal.
In addition to the food, I was also impressed with the service at Kabab Erbil. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure that I had everything I needed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice. It was decorated in a traditional Iraqi style, and it was a very comfortable place to dine.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Kabab Erbil Iraqi restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Iraqi dining experience in Abu Dhabi.

I visited this restaurant hoping to experience authentic Iraqi cuisine. First impressions were positive — they offer valet parking, which is convenient, and the restaurant’s interior is nicely decorated. Customer service was genuinely excellent: the staff were friendly, smiling, and very kind to kids. My rating for customer service is a solid 5/5.
However, the food was unfortunately a huge disappointment.
I ordered the Lamb Qoozi, and overall, it was a real letdown. The lamb was flavorless and not tender — it definitely needed more cooking time. The rice lacked seasoning and felt bland. The only good thing was the okra stew, which had a pleasant flavor and good texture. It was served nicely as well. My rating for this dish is 1/5.
Next, I tried the restaurant’s signature item: Kabab Erbil — which turned out to be the worst dish of the night. The texture was poor; the kabab literally fell apart when I tried to pick it up. It was dry, extremely fatty, and had an unpleasant smell that completely overpowered the taste of the meat. The portion was also shocking — just 3 small skewers for AED 90! Honestly, that price is outrageous considering the very low quality. My rating: 1/5.
I also ordered a Sujuk appetizer, which was okay, but nothing to rave about. It had decent flavor but didn’t stand out. I’d give it 2.5/5.
Overall, I can say this was not a successful experience at all. The prices are ridiculously high — we paid AED 227 for just two main dishes, one appetizer, and a large bottle of water. That would make sense in a luxury hotel restaurant, but this place doesn’t match that level of elegance — in fact, it felt a bit cramped. To be honest, it felt like a waste of money.
I won’t be coming back, and I honestly don’t recommend it to anyone.
⚠️ Note: The bill listed “Shawarma plate” instead of the Lamb Qoozi — though they share the same price, it was not very clear.
😅 Fun fact: My 5-year-old daughter actually loved the Qoozi and rated it 100/10!
📝 Final thought: I’m not trying to be mean — this is just my honest experience, and I hope the place...
Read moreThe 1 Star isn’t for the food, but the management/ownership in regards to customer service. The food is really good, but the way that customers are dealt with if there’s an issue is a bit ridiculous.
My partner and I were lied to about the ingredients of a dish multiple times (they told us it was vegetarian when it contained ground beef) leading us to order the dish. When we found the meat the waiter still tried to convince us that we were wrong. We asked to have it removed from the bill since we wouldn’t have ordered it if we knew it contained meat, and they refused. We were told they would make us a veg version of the dish for free next time if we called ahead so they could prepare it. Upon calling I was told they couldn’t make it that day and the manager would call me back. I was never called. A couple weeks later I spoke with the manager...same story. I asked if we could come and just have a credit on our bill and he said yes. After eating they refused to credit our bill. Even explaining the whole situation with the owner of the restaurant, he refused and said that if he reduced our bill he would have to deduct it from an employee’s salary.
They lost loyal customers over their lack of responsibility for their employee’s mistake. It’s not even about the money anymore. It’s about...
