Carrefour Market — Local services in Dubai

Update (2025): found larvae in the Carrefour brand of chocolate with candied orange. Product was on offer at the time and I opened it a week later - still in date. Contacted Carrefour customer service and the first representative (Muhammad) told me I was outside the 7 day window so there was nothing that could be done. The second representative (Janna) was far more helpful and reassuring. Said she would ensure quality inspections and control measures would be undertaken on this stock item; offered a refund and Share Points as compensation (I had lost the entire recipe I was making due to adding the chocolate to the ingredients before I saw the larva); escalated it to a senior rep who called me to discuss the matter directly. Carrefour sent a fruit basket to compensate but quite honestly it was traumatising. The foil and packaging were in tact so how this critter got in I don’t know.

Original review (2024): Atrocious minced meat quality on both occasions - never again. The first time a plastic bag had clearly been minced into the meat when we found tiny shreds of stretchy plastic throughout the cooked meal. Carrefour had nothing to comment nor was any compensation offered for the ill effects suffered after ingestion, only a refund to the original amount. Chanced it and purchased New Zealand beef on second occasion, only to find that the meat was totally oxidised, hidden under a layer of fresh meat. Absolutely appalling. Promotion and great deal are always there . Also rewords . Everything you need and anything in one place . With promised quality. I have been shopping in it for 12 years . With a master degree in marketing observant mom I never had a single complain . I shop twice a week for my big family . It’s the ULTIMATE UNBEATABLE supermarket. It’s give mom the joy of shopping and providing only the best there is for family . This supermarket is Dubai stand . Always at the top in everything. It gives me as a mom the ability to spoil my kids and my family without breaking my budget. Great super market store that has everything you might need. I buy my groceries for the week from this Store every Saturday, sometimes I spend hours here.

The layout is simple and efficient, with the main entrance across from a pharmacy and the trolleys/carts on the left side once you enter. The first section is produce, on the right hand side is the bakery, and the cashier is on the left hand side. After the produce section comes the poultry section, meat section and spices section. There is a small cubic area where they serve sushi too!

You can easily reach the milk and dairy section when you first enter the of the produce section. The aisles beyond this are a mix of sweets, chips, and canned food.

Parking is easily accessible from other side of the building, by taking a right before or after you reach there on Wasl Road. There are a couple of shops around it in the same building, including a Pharmacy, A jewellery store, an organic juice...
