Grapeskin Grape Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Dubai

I returned (last time I visited this establishment was a couple of months or so ago) to Grapeskin Grape Bar & Kitchen after an evening stroll around City Walk. It was still very warm but I sat outside on the terrace / garden area and enjoyed a couple of beers.

I ordered the "Italian Beef Charcuterie", it was well presented and very tasty, although it was a little bit later than I usually venture out (22:00). It was too much to eat at that time of night. I ate about half and asked to take what remained of the charcuterie away in a take-out bag.

It was not busy at all and found the service to be on the mediocre side. Perhaps because it wasn't busy, the staff generally were not on point patrolling, holding their position and scanning the patrons to see if any one required service. For this reason I again mark it down to a four-star rating.

However, one staff member was the shining light in an otherwise dull performance by the staff. Her name was Sagi (thumbs up to her), when she did finally realise I required service she was attentive and on the ball. The location was great and the decor matched. A four-star rating in a five star...

What a horrible experience it was. 1st the good: the atmosphere is nice now that we can sit outside. It’s a nice setting with a decent crowd. That’s where the good stuff ends. There is a “decorative pool” in the middle of the walkway; we missed it by justice on the way in and soon after a poor customer falls in. The waiter admitted to me that several people fall in it nightly; they did not think about putting the yellow “piso mojado” board till midnight. The food is inedible..Everything we ordered was bad. The oven camembert was cold and we had to return it; he kept on insisiting on getting us a new one and it was just nuked in the microwave; it was a soup not a softened cheese…. We had the Manchego salad, foolishly hoping it will be good.. and it was bad; barely any pears and surely no manchego.. the dressing was nauseating; it was bathing in this mayo based dressing. We also had the Truffle small pizza and also it was bad. What a shame.. Again it’s a nice atmosphere but the service and the food renders it a place to avoid except for perhaps a drink and maybe a cheese platter (160 dirham though; that’s...

This is my second time, even though our first experience was good this was not, I was waiting for my wife and daughter and I wanted to sit in a table not in a stool chair so the only availability was upstairs, i ordered nachos and beer while waiting for them, they served me the order and they disappeared I was left upstairs by my self, i have allergy toward capsicum so there was no mention of this in the menu, the nachos looked good and as I was eating them I noticed red capsicum, so since I was hungry I tried very hard to finish them by avoiding the capsicum, when I asked about validating my parking they said they don't as they only validate the ones pertaining to the hotel, so three mishaps, and I had to pay parking, so, make sure if you still want to go over there to park in the hotel, and DON'T sit upstairs, ...it is unfortunate as the service was a lot better...
