We had been craving sushi for a while and decided to try Rayu Japanese Restaurant in Jumeirah, Dubai during our visit and we’re really glad we did. We first came across the place through an Instagram ad, and it immediately caught our attention with its cozy, Japanese-inspired vibe. As you walk in, a full wall of manga adds a playful, authentic touch to the space. There’s also a small, well-designed photo spot that’s perfect for couples or solo shots, very Instagram-friendly.
The restaurant is medium-sized, clean, and well laid out. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal.
One of the highlights is their all-you-can-eat sushi deal for AED 99, which includes a wide selection of sushi types and unlimited sides. For just AED 15 more, you can also get unlimited iced tea in three flavors: lemon, peach, and passion fruit. We especially enjoyed the peach and passion fruit.
The ordering system is simple. The menu lists each item with a minimum and maximum quantity, you can’t order less than the minimum, but you can order more of anything you like. We tried most of the options. Some we really enjoyed, while others weren’t to our taste, which comes down to personal preference.
The gyoza was fine, though it was fried in a way that made it resemble a sambosa, which took away from the original flavor and texture. The takoyaki was the only item we didn’t enjoy; it had an undercooked texture that made it hard to eat. Hopefully, that’s something the kitchen can improve on.
To reduce food waste, the restaurant has a policy of charging AED 10 per piece left uneaten. It’s a good approach, but it does mean you need to be careful not to overorder.
One issue we did encounter was when we were first served empty sauce plates, one of them had a hair inside. It was definitely concerning, especially since this came before any food was served. We informed one of the staff members, and she apologized sincerely. While it was handled professionally, small lapses like this can affect a customer’s overall impression, so we hope the restaurant pays closer attention in the future.
We didn’t get to try the desserts, some of which are included in the offer, simply because we were already too full.
Parking-wise, the restaurant is located inside Wasl Vita Mall, which charges AED 10 per hour and deducts directly from your Salik balance. A more affordable option is the nearby street parking at AED 4 per hour, which is just a short walk away.
While a few items could be improved, service is good, and the value, especially with iced tea, for AED 114 total was compelling. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for an affordable and casual sushi experience in Dubai with a unique atmosphere and...
Read moreIts our First time to visit Rayu, we saw the tiktok Take Out Dubai, and because it the first time we hear about it, we like to try. The staff when we arrives is not friendly at all we read the signage Marites in instagram infront of the counter and she even corrected us saying its not Marites its instagram..Oops … you should have not wrote it there. Then we order, trying the one we saw in tiktok but when we inquire the server told us it is front the QR code thats why I am saying earlier to scan the code, Omg she is Bitter totally. But still we proceed on ordering. The food is good, tasty but too saucy, portion is very good and ambience is nice. We try to get the unlimited sushi they have for 89 dhs but when we ask the server about it, again we felt that she is not the person we should ask. Shes is a bit rude trying to be polite in the end but its too late we decided not to take the unlimited sushi and not to recommend the restaurant because of the BAD dine-in experienced we had. We work in F&B and we know how customer service goes. This server is not approachable, as she is busy doing other things as if we are disturbing her when we are the only dine-in guest at that time.she is busy doing other task which is her priority. Brooming while we are there dining.OMG the ladies I am with are managers of well know restaurant in UAE and they were really...

From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who guided us through their impressive menu. The ambiance is modern yet inviting, perfect for both intimate dinners and casual gatherings.
Now, let's talk about the food - it was simply sensational. Every dish we ordered showcased the chef's dedication to quality and creativity.
