The Aldi store at Fishponds is extremely clean and the staff are very helpful and polite. It has a wide range of products and good quality fresh fruits and vegetables besides the weekly special buys and the prices are competitive even compared to Lidl, but the number of shallow trollies which are needed most are less than needed and the majority of available ones in large numbers are the huge deep ones which are not favoured if you want to shop for one person or you have a disability and find it difficult to reach to the bottom of the trolley at the till, which is an agony. The Aldi of Fishponds has added the self checking out machines that are really excellent in its design, especially the packing area which is big enough to pile the groceries, compared to the extremely small ones of its neighbour Lidl. A point worth mentioning is the bad layout of some products by locating some items out of reach, such as crafts supplies which are located on the uppermost shelf that can't be reached people with disability or medium height and short people. I went to buy some items for the crafts advertised as this week's special buys but I could not reach out to get my hands on any of them. I bought everything except what I went there to purchase in the first place. The staff are polite and helpful but it does not feel right to keep calling on them to help you lower the many items available on high shelves, especially when the store is crowded with shoppers and the staff are trying their best to do other chores. The store is clean and the sanitising ingredients are available for the shoppers. There are always gardening items and plants...
Read moreOLD PROBLEM SOLVED.!!!!! WARNING!!!!!! not problem with the store, good price and "friendly" staff. a big problem with the car park, i got a parking charge notice and i won´t come back until i forget it. I spend more than 25 min (average) on my shopping and mooore if i have a look to the special offers. not worthless at all. they can proof at what time u get in/out from the car park but you can not proof that u spend all the time at aldi store, not in a different place as they assume. Trust should be reciprocal between customer and seller, and may they can put a tick machine as at work? i have already paid, i will tell you if the appeal was successful or not but i will keep thinking is not fair the ammount they charge for the time you are using the car park, its quite cheaper to buy a plane ticket to ...... At the moment, Aldi´s customer service contacted me and we are trying to arrange an agreement. Just to say it seems fair to thank them for the interest and appreciate it. To be continued. Hello to everyone, as i promised i have to tell you that after having a few conversations with Aldi customer service, we have a agreement, so I am more than happy to share the new and we will see quite often in the...
Read moreTypical Aldi store. The offer bins were a bit of a mess, needed sorting by staff after an afternoon of shoppers going through them. The offers don't often have anything that much interests me. The look of the place is better than the stores appeared a few months ago. I like the darker look. I tend to pick through, looking for what takes my eye. I generally get some cheese, a block of 'lighter' to grate and some slices of maasdam for supper. The odd yoghurt, the Sicilian Lemon is particularly nice lately. A bar of chocolate for when the nibbles attack. There are some interesting pastas too, just now. Some tins of unsalted tuna to go with the pasta in a sauce. I don't do an 'all round' shop here, but get what's good on price that I need. The tills were opening and closing to deal with demand, which is good. If it was closer to my home I might do more of a proper weekly shop, as I'd get to know the prices and products better. As it is, Sainsbury's gets more of my shopping, than...
