A rather bizarre system in which they seem to have many sales people, but nobody actually wants to serve anyone. I went in to pick up an ink cartridge. Found it quickly enough and then went to the tills. Despite there being many staff, there was nobody on tills. There was one guy in the customer service section, but he was dealing with a gentleman's query and there was also a woman waiting with her own problem. The manager walked past several times, but didn't seem concerned that nobody was working the till. I then decided to look for some wipes for my camera lens. One of the staff, named Scott, pointed me in the right direction. I picked up the cloth and then went back to the till and STILL there was nobody serving. But there did seem to be several staff standing around chatting. Then, out of nowhere, 2 staff came, carrying products for other customers, pushed right past me and proceeded to take their money. By this point, I had been waiting in front of an empty till for 10 minutes. I found it part hilarious and part vexing that I was completely ignored and that, despite my wait, everyone else was being served before me. Apparently, you need to physically grab a member of staff and drag them over to the till before they allow you to purchase anything. Again, the manager was hovering around, but didn't think to help.
Eventually, Scott saw my situation and jumped on till and took my money. Well done Scott. (I know his name because it says '100 Scott' on the receipt.) It's a bemusing situation when a store makes it difficult to actually pay.
I left and saw 2 staff standing next to the till chatting.
Utterly useless staff and manager, except Scott, who managed to actually do his job.
I should also add, staff leaning over desks looking at stuff on their tablets/phones doesn't look very...
Read moreWarning! Apparently paying for an order is not sufficient to secure your goods!
Initially I was given great service and help to purchase a LG TV. Order placed and paid for, to be delivered the following week.
HOWEVER no email receipt was received (I asked when I bought it and was told the email might take 24 hours to come through), and no delivery happened.
Went into the store following weekend to enquire and was told no order on the system, no real apology given and I was told the money would go back into my account as it hadn’t gone through at Curry’s end. I felt treated as if it was my fault. I was told there was no way they could do anything else and was told to ring customer service.
I did, and this too was an unpleasant experience. When I finally got through to a person I was transferred twice, before being told they’d found the payment and it would have to be cancelled as their system hadn’t processed it. Not even once was the word sorry uttered or an attempt to help me re-purchase or discussion of something for the inconvenience.
Throughout the whole experience, including in store there was no attempt to make up for the massive inconvenience of an order that had been placed and approved simply not showing up and just the ‘system failing’.
Quite possibly, genuinely, the worst customer service experience I’ve had in totality. The significant amount of money still yet to return to my account just...
Read moreReserved a laptop on the Monday went to collect it the Wednesday, turns out the reservation had expired but they could still get me the it, however the price had gone up by £70, they just casually assumed I'd be fine with this.
Now, I wasn't trying to trick the system, I had no idea the price was about to go up I only used reserve and collect because I was buying it through quidco, as far as I was concerned when I walked in there I was there to pick up the laptop I'd reserved for the agreed price. Now, normally I'd understand that if I walked into the store demanding an old price it would be a bit much to expect that, however even though they're technically in the right under the circumstances for the purpose of good custom service, as I had tried to reserve it at another price I thought they would sort me out rather than letting me walk out without buying anything, it was poor customer service and they lost a sale, I'm without a laptop, I will either wait for the price to go down again and buy it from them (a different store) or I will buy it elsewhere even if I do have to pay the higher price, there's no way I will be buying it from them at the higher price, and they need to understand it's not about the money I could have afforded it, it was the principle. So, they let me walk out without buying anything, as if letting me do that achieved something, what exactly? They've lost out, I lost out,...
