The town hall doesn't cry out as a venue to visit, but it's well worth a look (especially as it's free!) Plenty of history here, it won't take you hours to go around or anything but there are multiple rooms to look at - each have their own sort of feel to them...! It could perhaps do with a bit more information here and there, but it was a nice place to be sidetracked from what we were doing!

Drain glass with coats of arms of the Old Norman Founders and Prince Bishops. Masters of Arms paraphernalia stored here. Associated to memory of Durham Light Infantry ( County Regiment).

The town hall doesn't cry out as a venue to visit, but it's well worth a look (especially as it's free!) Plenty of history here, it won't take you hours to go around or anything but there are multiple rooms to look at - each have their own sort of feel to them...! It could perhaps do with a bit more information here and there, but it was a nice place to be sidetracked from what we were doing!

We called in to Durham Town Hall for some Tourist Information. We were greeted by lovely Leigh who was very friendly and helpful. She recommended places to eat for lunch and gave us a Durham voucher which entitled to discounts at participating restaurants. We were really impressed with the service we received. An excellent first impression of Durham. We will definitely be back....
