James Anderson Butchers — Local services in City of Edinburgh

Yesterday afternoon I bought here 0.5 kg of ox tails (on the pic), 0.5 kg smoked ribs and two lamb pies. That was my first time in this shop as normally I’m using butcher at Stockbridge.

Today I try to eat one pie for the breakfast and is was absolutely disappointing. After first bite everything end up in the bin. The weird stuffing was just awful.

Today after work (around 17:00) I go to my fridge to take it out and cook ox tails and they were incredible smelly (like roten meat) in some places even slightly green and sticky. Everything after one night in the fridge! I binned that straightaway.

The smoked ribs were fine.

I’m not recommending that place as I lost my trust there. I will never comeback and I would never recommend that to anyone of my friends. I’m absolutely disgusted!!!

I was trying to call the shop but I noticed that they are open only till 17:00. I will try to call them tomorrow to discuss that case with the store manager.

Have shopped in this butchers for many years. It was a great butchers. However, I can't say that now. I bought sausages and red pudding on 2 separate occasions which were horrible both times - the texture for both was mush. I couldn't eat them and had to bin them. Your prices have taken a massive jump too. I won't be back unless you change your recipes or suppliers. Very...
