First time here. An intends coffee turned into food. Triple expression X2-intense & smooth with a tiny bit bite. Beautifully presented Rose latte with a heart shaped spoon ❤️. Chose soya. It could have been hotter but was delicious both warm & cool. Will opt in for the double expression add on next time. Apple & pear croissant-crisp, flaky-how is this without dairy butter?! Super yummy soft fruits with seasoning you can properly taste! Not just a hint, it was a “hello! I’m here!” & super moorish. Humous platter. A bit underwhelming but worth the price. The warm wrap quickly went cold & tough (as with GF) but maybe toasted strips would work better. Putting in a Sid salad & a potato cake, some sun dried Tom’s would liven this up but the humous!! Hands down best I have had from all my travels. Smooth, thick, such a unique flavour & a massive serving! *chefs kiss 😘”. This big serving did make the small amount of yummy fermented beetroot seem meagre though. Was very pleased that humous can be bought in tubs 😍 Left with 2 HUGE choccie pumpkin cookies & kombucha from Fife. Cookies are crisp & soft & have bold aromas of nutmeg & Christmas. Nothing was shy on flavour here. Total was around £34 Mid age-elderly clientele. Lady was enthusiastic with every customer & eager to explain flavours & local producers. Gentle cafe music. Variety of plants & natural toiletry products on sale. Wheelchair accessible if a table is moved. Accessible toilet.

This little cafe is lovely, there are informative posters on the walls of women in history, potted plants and various other pieces of quirky decoration. The biscoff pancakes were great, I especially enjoyed the mango and kiwi with the biscoff crumb- a combination you don’t usually get. The dirty fries were great and the portions were good. The matcha latte was made with oat milk, (almond or soya could be requested) and I’d suggest that even if you don’t eat at this place - pop in and grab a matcha latte to go. It was smoothly mixed and not sweet, it had a creamy taste and no bitterness or residue texture. The other person in my group had coffee, and I was told this was also fab. Worth a visit! Everything that came out looked great, and the drinks are far superior to chains so I would go here just for those. The service was great, so no complaints here. Definitely recommend this place and will be returning

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at The Sly Fox today! We used to go to their stall at the Leith Market to get some take away lunch and houmous and tofu but it was just so nice to have a seat in their restaurant. We had a tea and a latte and then nachos and the goulash. They were both so so tasty and well presented, the pictures don’t do them justice. The cutlery is beautiful and the deserts were tiramisu and coconut cake. Raw so very healthy, easy to digest and super super good! I almost ordered more but the portions are not tiny so we will have to come back to try more of the menu :) Thank you for the delicious food and see you again soon! xx

The best English Breakfast (EB) I've ever had, period. Where do I begin? Since the restaurant I used to work at closed about two years ago, I've been on the search for the perfect EB to enjoy, but no place was doing every bit of it right. Now, I'm vegan and my boyfriend is vegetarian, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to get a good alternative EB somewhere. After a two years search, The Sly Fox stole my heart and my stomach with the absolute best one, better even than the one I used to have at the restaurant I worked at.

I couldn't sign off on this review without complimenting the chef who came up with these potato pancakes seasoned with garlic that were out of this world amazing.

Definitely pop in for the great cuisine, lovely staff, and very cute decor. I am considering travelling to Edinburgh every so often just for their breakfast, so you...
