Churchill Shopping Centre — Local services in Dudley

I hadnvisited Dudley for many years and had some parcels to take to the post office so thought we'd take a trip. How places change when you're not looking!!!!! Good to see Teddy Gray still has a shopnthere but otherwise I disliked the experience. Not terribly inviting as a town centre ,I feel sad that the market traders have an uphill battle to.make a living. Overpriced charity shops with loud people discussing their desires. Waited in a queue in the post office, one lady serving who decided to take a personal phone call despite a queue in front of her if 4 people. I pointed this out to her as she went behind the camera unit to continue her conversation. I walked out and brought my parcels back to a local post office. All in all a dreadful morning which I won't be in a hurry to do again Thank goodness we have the Black Country Living Museum and the Zoo as decent places to visit. We certainly need our town centre sorting out if we hope to attract families to the area for a few days...

Very easy to access if on foot but difficult to park close by if little car park by bus station is full. Obviously has knock on effects if carrying shopping. Access from bus station is very easy though. I personally refuse to pay for parking in Dudley and park on side streets and walk. The centre is clean and the floors usually kept dry when poor weather. There are a range of shops from food, cafe, home goods, newsagent and charity but unfortunately, as with the rest of Dudley, there are empty shops. (This is a high street problem for many towns but especially Dudley. My honest recommendation is try Bilston. A high street with a range of shops and very few are empty, a Metro link and a great market. Sorry Dudley, so many attractions but the shopping isn't one of them unless all you want are charity shops.) The centre however is well maintained and there are large spaces available to rent so come on landlords, attract some names into the town, not more...

The centre itself is ok. But be warned of little Italy. Been there a couple of weeks ago and bought a pullover as a surprise for my husband. I was not sure if I should go for it as 70 pounds is quite much and I was afraid the pullover would not fit well. But the guy in the shop promised I could return it even after Christmas.... so I made a mistake and purchased the pullover. Unfortunately it doesn't fit as it should. So I wanted to return it, but now the guy is telling me only exchanges would be accepted. He said he never promised i could return the pullover. But as nothing else in this shop is as per our taste we had to stick with a 70 pounds pullover which doesn't fit. Thank you so much. We will never buy...
