Berwick Bridge — Local services in England

This old bridge which was opened in 1624 is now undergoing repair work and is currently closed to all motor traffic and foot traffic as of April 2021. Its a grade 1 listed structure which James the 6th of Scotland / James the 1st of England had built, it was wooden bridge prior to this and in a bad state repair and quite unsafe. The sandstone rock that was used to build it was quarried locally at nearby Tweedmouth. If you have time to explore around Berwick on foot, then it is worth spending 15-20 minutes walking across the old bridge, or Berwick Bridge, over to Tweedmouth and then cross back over the Tweed into Berwick via the newer Royal Tweed Bridge.
