5 floors of historical, renovated, granary. You get the experience of seeing some of the original structure. Disabled accessible with lifts. The top floor has kitchens, tv/lounge, dont forget to put your pin on the board to show where your from 😀. Clean and well kept. Floor 4 and 3 are the rooms. We had a larger room with 2 bunk beds and 1 single bed. There was an onsuite toilet/wet room shower. Good amount of space as the bathroom ran the length of the room. Make sure to bring your own towels. Individualised personal lights for each bed. A thick comfortable white duvet for each bed is folded and sitting at the end of each bed showing their white sheet and pillow. The windows have wooded shutters that can be closed for privacy but it is recomended to leaved the windows open for fresh air flow. Multiple lockable cupboards for personal items. Bring your lock with you. The 2nd floor is a viewable art gallery. The ground floor has a variety of places to sit, and includes a small play area for children. Many books and dads are available. There is a purchasable continental breakfast consisting of fruit options, pastry, cereal, and toast. Juice, coffee, tea and milk available for drinking with the breakfast. You may choose a to add a hot breakfast to that continental breakfast for a higher charge. It is preferred to order your breakfast option the night prior but if you do not mind waiting around for 20-25 minutes then they will accomidate. 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausages, to triangular hasbrowns and a half of a tomato. The night staff was extreamly friendly. There are 2 usable enterances/exits. After 10pm the front doors are not usable but the back is private key card access 24 hours. Outdoor seating around back. A quick walk out the back and through an old pathway and your arrive at a beautiful sight. The water a stone throw away. The history in every lathing you...

We booked 2 nights for a private ensuite room for 2 people paying £45 a night, which is reasonable for the the location. The room (304, Grass) was large and had 6 bunk beds. Being quite tall I struggled with them. The beds were comfortable and each had a reading light & charging socket. There was plenty of space and storage in the room. The main issue we had was the smell from the shower. It just smelt so mouldy even with the extractor fan coming on every time you entered the room. There were some spots of mould on the ceiling (see picture) and it was not pleasant to use. On the first night we tried to eat at the hostel but were told they could not make loaded nachos that were on the menu so we ended up having to go elsewhere. The coffee machine was out of order awaiting repair. The social spaces were fine but the sofas were quite worn, the self catering kitchen was nice with lots of space. The location itself was great and parking is free for 24 hours in the nearby Quayside car park, or free for 2 hours in the car park outside the hostel (you do need a parking disc to park here). There is lots to see and do in the town centre, lots of places to eat and drink and lovely beaches 10 minutes drive away from the hostel. The staff were friendly and welcoming but when were leaving we asked how we found the stay to which I replied "Ok". It was fine for what it was and the cost but it could...

“A Hidden Gem in Berwick – YHA Exceeded Our Expectations!”

I had no idea how fantastic a stay at YHA could be until we visited YHA Berwick. After being unable to secure a room at a nearby location, we decided to give this place a try—and we were absolutely thrilled with our decision! The room was spacious and perfectly suited for our family of four, providing all the comfort we needed.

The location couldn’t have been better. Situated within easy walking distance of all the key sights in Berwick, we found it incredibly convenient to explore the area right from the doorstep.

A special mention must go to Scott, who checked us in. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel right at home with his warm welcome and wealth of local knowledge. His recommendations for bars and restaurants were spot on, making our dining experiences just as memorable as our stay. Scott’s friendly demeanor and sharp sense of humor really added to the overall experience.

If you’re searching for a place to stay in Berwick, YHA Berwick should be your top choice. With its excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding service, it’s truly a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be returning or using YHAs...

Great hostel, great little town! This two-night stay at YHA Berwick-upon-Tweed was my first experience of a dormitory for well over 50 years, when I froze almost to death in Perth one January on the way to ski in the Cairngorms. What a difference.... the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, light and airy, and well equipped with nice bed linen, hooks, cupboards, etc for six people (females). The shower room was excellent, with plenty of hot water and my vegan breakfast was lovely. I would strongly recommend a visit, either solo (it was good meeting and chatting to other guests) or as a family in one of the private rooms. All in all a very enjoyable short break.
