Without hesitation, I would say this is the best steak pie I've ever had.
Unbelievably tasty. The meat still had a pink tinge to it. I'm not even sure how that's possible when put into a pie dish.
My little boy and better half both had the roast beef Sunday roast. Luckily for me, the wee man never ate all his, so I got to taste it.
The roast beef was cooked to perfection. I've had this same dish at many restaurants, but this was by far the most flavourful and tender beef I've tasted served in this fashion.
The vegetables were delicious and again cooked perfectly. The waitress even made extra Brocoli for the little man because he said it was his favourite.
The service here was great and the staff were lovely.
The only thing wrong I would say if I was nit picking is that the background music of the place was very quiet. This meant that if nobody else in the restaurant was talking then everyone could hear what you say which can be a bit awkward sometimes.
Overall I would highly recommend this place. Family friendly. Dog friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere. Great service. And exceptionally tasty food.

Read moreAbsolutely shocking. We went in this place today as it advertised they did coffee + cake. We went in and was met by an abrupt waitress who bsnged down food menus on the table, I said, no we wasn't having food, just drinks and cake, she scraped the menus up and flounced off. Around 5 minutes later she came back and took the drinks order and seemed to be having difficulty understanding what my kids wanted. One of my son's had asked for a cookie, she brought it and it was smashed into pieces, my son went over to ask to change it and she did so abruptly. I had a piece of shortbread as advertised, it came, one piece no bigger than a digestive biscuit. Around £2. My husband then asked for a pure orange juice, she replied, is it diluted?! I said, Pure Orange juice isn't dilured it's pure! She once again stomped off, brought the orange juice and banged it down on the table without saying a word. A few minutes later she was in the corner crying. Totally rediculous and a terrible look on the business, if she can't do her job in a pleasant eat she should find another one. Abrupt, rood, and not thr brightest star. We will not be returning. I recommend...

At first unassuming from the street, once stepping inside you'll feel the fabulous ambience of the restaurant and bar. The stove fire place sitting in its brick surround, the low ceilings and exposed wooden beams really give a sense of the history of the building and make you realise what a cosy welcoming establishment you've walked in to.
The food is great value for money with classic pub dishes such as steak pie, fish & chips and Sunday Roast Dinners among many others. The portions were very generous and always served with a smile from the lovely, helpful staff. For people who like a lighter bite or any kids dining with you there's a section of the menu offering smaller portions of all the delicious main meals.
There are many places to eat in Berwick but this is definitely one to make...
