Buckinghamshire New University — Local services in Great Britain

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE REVIEW!

I applied to four of the top universities in the England, including KCL, UCL, Edinburgh, and ICL. I received excellent and even unconditional offers from these prestigious institutions. However, I chose to prioritize this university, hoping for a conducive academic environment to foster my growth. Unfortunately, this decision has been a major letdown.

This university has fallen short in so many ways. As a student with a strong academic track record, I had high expectations, but my experience has been marred by unresponsive staff and a lack of support. I've invested a significant amount of time and money, only to find myself in a position where I must withdraw from the course after a year of frustration.

The lectures and professors are unhelpful, leaving students without the support they need. Promises of assistance and support, which are touted in their online media, are utterly false. In reality, when you encounter problems, you'll be passed around without anyone genuinely understanding or addressing your concerns. I experienced a significant amount of stress and mental strain, and my issues were not respected or addressed at all. This university has left me feeling completely isolated.

I want to emphasize that this review isn't driven by personal animosity; it's a sincere caution to those considering this university. If you value your academic progress and seek a supportive environment, please look elsewhere. There are far better educational options in England, and my experience here has been a stark reminder of the importance of choosing the right institution for your academic journey.

I truly wish I hadn’t accepted...

As a former student who took up adult nursing, this university is a joke as the lecturers in my course are not that supportive. Everytime I emailed my lecturers regarding my enquiry, they would either ignore my emails or read them late.

If I also wish to add, the counselling services are useless as they cannot figure out which support would work best for the student and this university does not take student mental health very seriously. Overall this is by far the worst universities I’ve ever visited and if you think of going to study there, don’t because those lecturers don’t give a shit about their students.

What’s even funny is that this university claims to be the “number 1 for student support” like is this uni serious? Wow. What a greatest lie I’ve ever heard in my life. At the end of the day, there are far better universities out there than...
