An Unfortunate Experience
My recent visit to Grounded Kitchen Restaurant left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. I had heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to give it a try, hoping for the best for mine and my partner’s anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be nothing short of a disaster.
The first sign of trouble was the service—or rather, the lack thereof. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with indifference from the staff, she seemed disinterested and unfriendly. The lack of warmth and hospitality from this server immediately set a negative tone for the entire evening: I myself am part hospitality, therefore, I am aware that this treatment is unacceptable and just simply disgraceful. Furthermore, getting the attention of this server to request basic things like water or condiments felt like an uphill battle. After we had finaly got her attention, it then took us 20 minutes to receive this simple ask (baring in mind the restaurant had a total of 5 tables (of 2-4).
Regrettably, the disappointment did not end with the service—the food was equally lackluster. The menu boasted a range of enticing dishes, but the execution was far from satisfactory. My appetizer arrived lukewarm, indicating a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. The main course was even worse; the menu stated that it was not spicy (as I have an unusual spice intolerance), my dish came with siracha sauce on top. I politely asked to get a new dish, and it was obvious that the kitchen had just taken the top part off and added new meat without the hot sauce. However, there was still the same sauce underneath my chicken.
To make matters worse, when I tried to express my dissatisfaction with the meal, the servers were dismissive and unapologetic. It was as if they were accustomed to receiving complaints and had no intention of addressing the issues at hand.
Perhaps the most frustrating part of the entire experience was the hefty price tag attached to such subpar service and food. I expected to pay a premium for a memorable dining experience, but instead, I left feeling like I had wasted my money on an uninspired and poorly executed meal.
In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Grounded Kitchen Restaurant to anyone. The combination of awful service and bad food creates an unfortunate and unsatisfying dining experience. I sincerely hope that the management takes customer feedback seriously and makes significant improvements to ensure that future patrons do not encounter the same disappointments I faced during my visit. Until then, I advise diners to look elsewhere for a more enjoyable and fulfilling...
Read moreThis was my first visit and I was initially quite exited but unfortunately I was overall very disappointed. I found the entire experience quite stressful.
When we arrived we were seated in a small side room, which was entirely black and had no atmosphere apart from being claustrophobic. It was an awful seating area, far from the nice airy front room.
We looked at the menu, which looked decent and made our choice… we waited and waited and only when I flagged somebody down we were informed that we HAD to order via the smartphone. I was not happy with this and so we spent a while trying to use the phones to make the order. This was just a rubbish experience as you completely miss out on any interaction with a server and cannot ask any questions or do simple things like order tap water for the table.
The ordering experience itself was also marred by there being 3 QR codes on our table (two on the menu and one on the table). Only one was going to give us the table number and the others were for take-away. Very stressful!
The food arrived in a disjointed way with myself having to wait almost 30 mins after my wifes food arrived! There seemed to be absolutely no attempt by the kitchen to get the tables food out at the same time.
The food itself was OK but I would say that the way they do the chicken is disgusting. The chicken comes broken up and looks like it has been put through a blender. It does not go well with this style of food as it just melts into the broth and becomes a disgusting chicken soup. This type of chicken is more suited towards a burrito or something like that.
Sorry but I was really unhappy with this restaurant, in particular the online-ordering and food timings. I will not go back and instead go to noodle nation or Wagamama, which are...
Read moreA Satisfying Noodle Stop at Grounded Kitchen, High Wycombe We recently visited Grounded Kitchen in High Wycombe, a brand we'd been keen to try, for a Sunday evening meal on our way home from Surrey. The restaurant was not overly busy, and we were promptly seated at a table for our family of four. Our server, Anushka, was exceptionally helpful and professional. He patiently guided us through the menu, which was particularly useful as it was our first time dining there. For our children (aged 6 and 9), we selected a kids' rice bowl and a kids' noodle bowl, both of which were well-portioned and thoroughly enjoyed. My wife and I opted for the two Udon bowl offer. I chose the Ramen Noodle with sizzling prawns, and my wife selected the Chicken Laksa. Although they had run out of chicken wings, which we had hoped to try, the chicken mandu side proved to be a very satisfying alternative. The food was flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous, offering good value. While the cuisine at Grounded Kitchen may not be strictly authentic Korean, it presents a delicious and well-executed noodle option in the market. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the outstanding service provided by Anushka; his positive and professional demeanor significantly enhanced our dining experience. I also had a brief conversation with the owner/franchisee, who was a strong representative for the brand. Our children truly enjoyed their meals, which is always a positive sign. We anticipate returning to Grounded Kitchen in the future, particularly to sample the chicken wings we missed...
