Okay, so this is a GREAT place to go, and I love it, much more than Odeon. This is because in Odeon the rooms are cold and the screens are too small. The rooms in cineworld may have less seating, but the screens are massive, and I've ALWAYS been immersed. The cinema food is always tasty and I've always had a fun experience. The only time it's ruined is because of other guests in the cinema, I've seen people using flash to take photos while the film is on to update whoever is on their Snapchat I guess about where they are. The phones stuff is super annoying and always happens at least once. But the even worst part is if you're sitting next to someone with NO self-awareness. I once had to sit through Gladiator 2, my attention constantly revoked by this woman next to me, letting out the stinkiest farts and taking up pretty much both the arm rests on her sides, including mine And both times when she was sitting and getting up, she was flapping her coat all over the place and into my face. No, she didn't apologise, and honestly, her conduct made everything really uncomfortable. 5 stars for the wonderful venue, underpaid staff, and quality movies. I won't let the inconsiderate guests ruin that score for you, but to anyone reading this who's thinking of going whether you think you're this inconsiderate or not, please keep it in mind that there are other guests who paid to be there just like you and want to have a nice time too. If you happen to have a medical condition that affects flatulence, then I understand, but please take the steps necessary to ensure that you're not forcing this onto other people in a compact space. Perhaps contacting the cinema and requesting options can help. As far as I know, the cinema always has certain seats reserved that can't be booked by regular people and are reserved for individuals with certain conditions, so it is worth a try. Luckily, I'm a cineworld member but I remember when I used to only go once a year and it was like a special occasion thing and I'm sure there's tones of people out there that still do treat it like that. Speaking of which, if you're a film fanatic like I am, the cineworld pass is 100% worth it. Anyway, back to the venue, usually clean, very lovely staff, food doesn't disappoint only guests...
Read moreOnly because I can't give zero stars. We went there this evening and as we were entering the doors of Cineworld Brighton my partner got a cup from McDonalds full of water dropped on his head from around a height of 10 meters. My partner was pretty shocked, as was I. Both of us covered in water. The manager's reaction though was instantly defensive saying that it had probably come from the car park and therefore had "nothing to do" with them. I said it was to do with them if someone was in the car park deliberately dropping cups of water on their customers! I told the manager Security should be informed and he said he would but didn't sound convincing. We asked for a refund for our pre-booked seats and went to the Marina Security office ourselves. They were quite concerned and reacted well, but in the time it took to walk to the office, this manager still hadn't contacted them. Seriously, who wouldn't inform security IMMEDIATELY??? Therefore my impression is that management seemed complacent about rogue individuals dropping projectiles from a height at their customers. I will never go there again. I recommend you avoid. Not worth the risk of getting a cup of anything dropped on you from a great height. Cineworld couldn't give two hoots if it happens to you.
Give your money to Odean on West St instead . They have a deal with Churchill Squ car park to waiver your parking fee, seats and furnishings are much cleaner and staff far better mannered. I cannot imagine Odean reacting like this in these circumstances at all....
Read moreGreat films, good size theatres, super comfy recliner chairs and all the treats to munch on while watching the film! Top marks for easy access Starbucks too.
As a disabled customer, things couldn’t be better; both of with tickets for a carer for piece of mind (& easy booking online with a CEA card), flat access from the car park just metres away, flat access into cinema with push button powered doors, a permanent short ramp inside up to the counters and screens and then flat/ sloping access into the individual screens. There are designated areas if you need to stay in your chair with a seat next to you for carer/friend or can transfer to other seats and store your wheels, perfect!
Now, the loos.. omg! Full length mirrors, sink you can fit most knees under if in a chair, all the rails, pristinely clean and most importantly the red emergency cord was down to the ground and not wrapped round something because “it’s in the way!”… literally spot on!!
Thank you for all that, gives me confidence to visit the complex alone if I feel up to it but definitely with a friend. Also, it shows other places it can be done, these things aren’t too expensive and you can make this things accessible to all…. And Yes I remember the Uber heavy exit doors that would slice your ankles on in the sea game force winds in the mid 80’s & 90’s, the sticky carpet and minimal access so an upgrade was perfectly possibly and fabulously done.
You are my ‘go to’ cinema for access and ease in Brighton,...
