Guava Health — Local services in Great Britain

This is a lovely small shop with a wide selection of organic goods — from skincare to supplements and food items. I was happy to find ceremonial matcha and really liked the overall vibe of the store.

However, I did have an uncomfortable experience with one of the staff members during checkout. While asking a routine question about student discounts, I was asked where I’m from, what I study, and where I study. I answered briefly and politely. Upon mentioning I’m from Ukraine, the conversation unexpectedly shifted toward politics and opinions about the war — including assumptions about what "Ukrainians want."

As someone directly affected by the situation, I responded calmly and respectfully, but I found it inappropriate to be drawn into such a conversation in a shop setting — especially when asked in a tone that felt a bit mocking.

I truly appreciated the product range and atmosphere here, but I hope future interactions can stay respectful and neutral, especially around sensitive...

I was passing by and this new shop looked inviting and I was surprised at how crisp, clean and bright it was as I walked in.

After a quick browse I realized the shop had far more to offer than I had imagined and stocked whole foods, snacks, beauty, general health as well as vitamins and minerals.

Staff in attendance were friendly, polite and let me browse without interfering but when I asked a few simple questions, it came to light that the staff were also up to date, knowledgeable and not just there to sell product. The advise given was sound and made a lot of sense.

Plenty on offer for Vegetarians and vegans too!

I will definitely be stopping by more often as it also conveniently located with ample parking spaces around.

PS - The Chocolate and Ice-cream...

I discovered Guava Health around August last year, when looking for a particular Vitamin C supplement. I nervously popped into the shop on Great Western Road (not used to health type stores!) and was immediately put at ease by the welcoming attitude of person who served me. I bought the Vitamin C and was treated to a free sample carob truffle! I went back one month later and had an indepth conversation with the same guy - I was looking for advice on supplements and his knowledge was immense and very person - centred. To cut a long story short, I moved job but continue to order now online from Guava Health. I love the speedy, personalised service and receiving wee surprise, tasty gifts! I would highly recommend...
