Really disappointed with the quality of the food on our visit 3/4/21. Mixed hor d’oeuvres was sadly lacking in quantity and quality. Special fried rice not that special and lacked in flavour and very watery. Duck in plum sauce was dominated my large amounts of pineapple and very strong vinegar smell. Beef in ginger and spring onion, had plenty of spring onion, but very little ginger or beef. Food was ready promptly and prawn crackers offered for free. Overall: overpriced for the quality of the food. Yet that is to be expected unfortunately for an eatery in a prime tourist area. Disappointed after hearing positive things. Doesn’t even deserve a rating - worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had! Ordered egg-fried rice and chicken-fried rice. The rice was white-steamed and contained minuscule bits of egg and shoelace-thin strips of chicken respectively. The Satay sauce was bland and obviously the peanut-based one. Will give one star for the prawn crackers, although 50p a bag dearer than our locals for about half the quantity. First and last visit. On a visit to the region last Friday, I went here to order a takeaway to take back to my remote holiday cottage some miles away. Bad enough having to wait 30 mins for the order, but to then get it back to the holiday cottage (a good 20 minute drove away) I find the order completely wrong. The young girl manning the counter seemed out of her depth. Evident by this wrong order. Late at night and did not return with the order to exchange it due to the onerous travelling time involved.
