Alishaan — Restaurant in England

We've been trying out different Indian restaurants near to where we live and decided to give this one a go. Overall this is your classic local Indian restaurant, with all the usual favorites being offered on the menu, so we felt quite at home ordering. We when for the mixed tikka sharing plate to start, then curry and rice each, a side of Bombay Aloo, and a garlic naan. All these items were very enjoyable, and well cooked. The portions were large in some cases more than we could eat. The service was excellent, and very quick. Only slight negative was we found the naan lacking a little crispness. Booked for 6 people on 20.1.24 at 7. We arrived on time and then shown our table. We couldn't even sit in two rows of 3, one had to sit on the end of our table. This we were told because of another table of 8. Very poor start. So we ordered some beer and 2 bottles of wine. They hadn't got our choice of wine, so we picked a different one. Only to be told they only had one... Really. What's going on. Ordered our food eventually, after they took table of 8 orders, even though they arrived after us. We have been after a new Indian Takeaway for years after our last one closed.

Never fancied trying anyone else, then tonight we fancied a balti but hubby didn't want to cook. So after 30 mins of reading various reviews, we settled on Alishaan.

Ordered two chicken balti's, pilau rice, nans, onion bhaji's, popadoms and the pickle tray, (the usual expected accompaniments). It was delivered piping hot, no complaints what's so ever, delivery was earlier than stated and the food was absolutely scrummy although we did leave a bit (generous portions).
