What amazing food – I think possibly the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. It’s really home-cooked and fresh. We had three different curries and a tarka dahl . Even the bread was home-made and gorgeous, and the rice – steamed basmati with cumin – was unlike any rice I’ve ever had. It felt as if we had gone round to a chef’s house for a meal – but they delivered it to our house.
What a luxury to have this place up the road. They also apparently do Gujarati special meals every Wednesday, so we’ll certainly be going back for that.
The Service was also wonderful – they delivered our meal, but for some reason our doorbell was switched off, and we didn’t hear it. They were so nice about it, even though it was our fault, and came back promptly when we phoned. Will certainly be back there regularly, and it’s just round the corner from the Plough pub so we could easily order our food, then pop in there for a quick drink while waiting. Highly recommended, and I wish we’d found it much sooner as it has apparently been there for...
Read moreReally delicious, reasonably priced and freshly cooked food, including handmade naan - everything was well seasoned and not at all oily. The saag aloo was particularly nice and the okra was well cooked and spicy. The cornflour paratha was delicious, and I’m pretty sure the only place in Hastings with bread options that are both gluten-free vegan. I’d also recommend the mixed dal.
The team are really friendly and honest - I was able to come in to order then come back to collect after about 45 minutes as they said, rather than be promised food faster and end up waiting around. It’s a new restaurant so there’s a bit of checking what’s still available between front of house and kitchen - but that’s a good sign in my opinion as it shows the food is being made fresh.
Lovely to have a great new takeaway away from the town centre, with friendly staff and delicious food - and open for the whole day which is so helpful - we’ll definitely be...
Read moreI ordered tikka masala wanting a mild dish but it was rather spicy which ruined it for me. The sag aloo was also so so runny and spicy barely much potato mainly spinach and like I said all liquid? it all tased the same?! Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it and felt it was a waste of money for me personally. I love Indian and this was such a disappointment as way too spicy. I had to smother it in yogurt so that I could eat it and not waste it but only helped a little. I can usually handle a little spice but this was too much and not a tikka masala I’m use to as should be mild, some sweetness and creamy...
