Boston Grill — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

I think this place needs to have a team meeting and to pull their socks up! From the initial outside appearance this place looked great and after swimming, my family were all hungry, so we wanted to try it out. Plus the free kids meals were appealing. However, the list of negative observations for the short amount of time we were in the building was very off putting. Firstly, before we even sat down, I'd witnessed a customer complaining that she'd been given the wrong pizza. Then we were greeted and sent to a table, I had asked for a high chair for my 19 month old... same waiter I had asked, walked past us several times without bringing the highchair, until I then asked another staff member. When they finally brought it, The tray was super nasty, with thick greasey sauce on it.. I apologised for asking and had them clean it, 5 seconds later brought back to me and now smells like damp or wet dog. Obviously the same cloth is being used for everything. We ordered a drink for the table but were not provided with a menu so we walked about and got one ourselves. By this stage we were feeling out of place and abit invisible. Our drinks arrived and the glasses were absolutely disgusting. Cloudy, smeared with finger prints and pieces of food around the top of my husbands glass. While choosing our meals, my 4 year old pointed out the dead flys on the display window next to our table, which was also gross. We finally ordered our food, and I was already apprehensive about eating here, whenever I overheard a different customer telling her husband about her undercooked food. Then I watched as they both picked apart their plate and at last had the courage to tell a member of staff. I quickly told my husband while it was happening and he too became concerned. We weren't prepared to put ourselves and children through potential food poisoning. Plus I'm pregnant, so I couldn't risk it. If the front of house was in such a dire state then I dread to think what the kitchen was like. Not to mention all staff seemed very young and generally not interested in being there, not wearing aprons, and one waiter had a gold necklace hanging off him. No managerial presence at all. No clear indication as to who was in charge. All of this happened within 15/20 minutes, and 5 minutes after ordering our food my husband agreed that we should cancel. So I found the nearest waitress and apologised and said we'd like to cancel our food but despite not having drank our juice, I'd still pay for it. She asked me why I was cancelling, and I replied with, "honestly there's just too many things that have happened that has put us off wanting to eat here." She didn't even apologise and just pointed me in the direction of the till to pay for the drinks. Then when I got to the till and repeated my request, the staff member shouts over me, into the kitchen, to cancel everything. Now there's no real atmosphere or music in this place, so every other customer heard that and I suddenly felt their glare and was very uncomfortable. It was without a doubt the worst dine out experience we've had. The hygiene and lack of customer service really was disappointing. But I think it's safe to say we dodged a bullet! We drove back home to ballymena and stopped off at the Ramble Inn for the very first time. Such a different experience from the second we walked through the door. I went with my boyfriend and members of staff seemed to be all young and uninterested being there. We were sat at one of the booths and the table was not clean, I looked past this none the less as simple mistake. Then our server leo I observed his name to be used a dirty rag that left a present smell of wet dog, telling me that they use the same rag for everything.

But once looking at the window beside me I saw there were dead flies littered up against the window. I could already start to see the lack of hygiene.

Then I ordered one of the starters now considering the higher prices (you’ll see why I say that), I was expecting a decent portion size. I had ordered the garlic mushrooms to share with my boyfriend…there were only two mushrooms on the plate. I was appalled to say the least.

Then another worker with untamed hair Carter or cary handling my food, he wasn’t even wearing an apron or anything of that regard and I ended up finding hair in my food on two occasions. As he served my food I observed my dish. I ordered “penne chicken Alfredo” ( I was told I was given gluten free pasta as I am severely allergic as I have celiac disease. There was complete ignorance on their part. From the server Leo completely ignoring my concerns about the gluten properties of my meal and he just shrugged when I confronted him after) and then asked for a side of garlic potatoes additionally ( my side was never given to me and I asked for it on 4 occasions). My problems didn’t stop there as the chicken in my dish was unseasoned and dry.

My boyfriend then ordered a calzone style “Texas bbq” then when his pizza was served. It wasn’t calzone style. So he had preemptively folded it himself as to make himself feel a bit better.

Then dessert, I ordered a cheesecake and it was served to me with cream on it in a rather peculiar spot, I had removed the cream and there was mold on my cheesecake that I was charged 8.99 for.

Then I had a few drinks with my boyfriend and his beer being the peroni was fine but I had ordered a Sauvignon blanc (house) once I received my wine after 20 minutes in a rather calm restaurant (no more than 4 other tables at the time). When I received my glass there were finger prints all over it and rather disgusting marks. Once I asked for a different glass I received a new one also accustomed to having finger prints . 1/10 experience will...

Myself and Partner decided we would come to this restaurant as we have tried alot of other American styled Cuisines and really enjoyed them. Unfortunately today was not the case and this to date was probably one of the worst restaurants I have been to.

When getting took to our table we noticed there was mustard up the wall which seemed to have been there for quite some time. The table was sticky and had sauce on it close to the wall. Shortly after sitting down we got our drinks delivered to the table and ordered our food. Myself I got a Burger and side of mexican fries. Partner got Pasta Carbonara and a side of Garlic chips. The food itself was set down at our table not even Five minutes later. My burger itself was tasty but unfortunately slide out of the bap there was that much juices and sauces. The chips where okay you could tell they weren't even seasoned with salt though. Mince was very bland and was covered by what seemed 20 jalapeno's , chilli sauce and cheese. My partners food was absolutely disgusting. She ordered carbonara and what came to the plate was shy of carbonara. The bowl was not even half filled , the sauce had no flavour at all and the bacon was rock solid. It seemed like it was a packet you put in the microwave for a couple of minutes then serve. Her Garlic potatoes where much the same first couple was okay then the rest were as hard as a brick. The staff at the bar . One was on drinks the other was on the phone constantly apologising to customers. One person he had a conversation with was a Uber eats driver. The conversation was a debate and could be heard across the hole restaurant. The customer isn't always right but I can guarantee this is common.
