Excellent hidden gem of the Headingley and Hyde park area. There's a real lack of decent chippys around this area unless you like pizzas, fried chicken and kitchen sink type takeaways. I'm pleased to report that the fish n chips served up here are absolutely spot on and very reasonably priced. The fish are fried fresh to order so allow a little waiting time but it's definitely worth it. I bought one regular fish n chips, a battered sausage, 2 fish bites (for my cat 😺) and a regular mushy peas. The batter was crisp and golden and not too thick, the fish was white and cooked perfectly and was lovely and flaky. The sausage was a sausage the same as I've had at other chippy places. It cost a very reasonable £11.60.

My feline housemate would Ike to make it known that she rates the lightly battered fish bites as 10 out of 10 for freshness, taste and presentation. St Michaels fisheries is a Meg approved taste tested...

DISCRIMINATORY TREATMENT!!! Absolutely unacceptable behaviour of the staff. I’ve been coming to this shop every week for over a year, but after what happened last week, I won't be coming again. I was the first to arrive and placed my order, but then a group of over 10 white men arrived after me—and every single one of them was served before I was. I ended up waiting OVER 30 MINUTES while they all got their food...

Despicable! There’s no excuse for this. It felt like blatant discrimination. The lads working there have no sense of customer service whatever.

On top of that, the quality of the food has been steadily declining. Portions are smaller, chips are often soggy, and the fish lacks the freshness and crispiness it...

After 44 minutes on a busy Friday night the guy calls me and says he can’t delivery my order , I ordered it at 6.50pm, so we are something to 8 now and I can’t order as I still have an order outstanding, so looks like no evening meal for me. Absolutely a waste of time, the shop had enough time to call me to cancel but left it 44 minutes. Complete disrespect and incompetence for the customers as he can’t cancel an order, please avoid going forward!!! And he still hasn’t cancelled the order, what a con artist these guys...
