I am very disappointed following my recent visit to your Build-A-Bear store in Hamleys in London, on 29/12/24. I traveled all the way from Italy with my children, specifically to create a personalized bear during the holiday season, but the experience fell far short of my expectations.

From the outset, the staff were discourteous and rushed me through the entire process, including the final payment. This behavior was unacceptable, especially as it overshadowed what was meant to be a special moment for my daughter.

The most upsetting issue was the absence of the promised birth certificate for the bear, which I had seen advertised in videos and promotional materials online. No one even offered this service during our visit. Additionally, the staff failed to include the heart inside the bear—a key part of the experience for my daughter. When I pointed this out, I was met with a dismissive response, being told it was “too late” because the store was closing.

Took my son to the build a bear in Hamleys today to get his 2nd Birthday Bear as we got one last year for his 1st Birthday we are going to start a family tradition.

As we approached we were greeted by a fantastic young man called Josh who spent 10-15 minutes assisting us, he was fantastic with all of us but particularly our son during the entire process.

He was happy to show us the different options with regards to outfits etc. He reprinted the “Birth Certificate” as he spotted there was a smudge on it, And even offered advice on the pros and cons of using either a box or a bag taking into account our plans for the rest of the day.
