Went in with my younger sister a short while ago. Joined the queue as we couldn’t see the flavours otherwise. Weirdly laid out as you joined at the till, paid first before you’ve even got to look at anything and exited after serving rather than the other way around. Rude woman at the till with no patience asking what we wanted, I said we haven’t got a chance to look at the counter yet. She retorted “cup or cone?” and wanted us to pay before being able to look at the flavours which were blocked by customers in front. What happens then if we don’t want any of the flavours? Being put off by her attitude and not being able to see the flavours and allergens before paying, I didn’t pick anything. My sister picked the flavour she wanted and this woman commented rudely “just ONE?” and glared at her. Can people not have 2 scoops of one flavour anymore? 🙄
Being made to pay before this is ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense. Queuing system needs flipped. Wouldnt be in...
Read moreVenchi is clearly doing very well since they are opening new stores all over London and very close to one another too. I am rather shocked as I find their prices absolutely ridiculous, especially when there are much finer gelaterias in Soho, like Gelupo (on Archer Street), which makes their gelato fresh every day, instead of selling industrial size quantities of pre-made gelato like Venchi. The staff at Venchi are very sweet, but given the present state of the economy, I find the prices absolutely obscene for something that is tasty, true, but not outstanding, or fresh. Even with my local discount, I am shocked. The reason I give it one star is because they are charging a silly rate, which makes me assume the owners are pretty greedy, and clearly not sensitive to issues of the...
Read moreI wish I would be able to give less than 1 star for this branch. I recently visited carnaby street branch of Venchi and was extremely disappointed with the poor customer service. One of the European female staff members was not only rude but also gave us a very unpleasant and racist attitude throughout our visit. She kept staring at us in an unfriendly manner, making us feel uncomfortable the entire time. On top of that, the milkshake we ordered was nowhere near the quantity we have received at another Venchi location. She acted like we didn’t know anything and was very unprofessional in her responses. Venchi should definitely work on their staff's attitude and train them to treat customers with respect. I will not be returning to this location...
