The worst experience at the Discovery Plant playground on my child's special day. Today is my child's birthday, and we arrived at the playground at 4 PM. All the children entered without any issues, except for two who arrived late because they had fallen asleep on the way. At 3:33 PM, we were in front of the receptionist, who told us we were late and that she couldn't allow anyone else in, as per the manager's instructions. We offered to pay extra because my child was really eager to join the others. We kindly asked her to reconsider, but she kept saying the manager wouldn’t allow it. I fully understand that we were late and that it was our responsibility, but my child just wanted to play for at least 15 minutes with his friends. This is about basic human kindness. Of course, we respect rules where they are absolutely necessary, but in this case, we were only 3 minutes late. And yet, she spoke to us so rudely. My friend, the child’s mother, helped her child get over the gate while the other children were calling him to join. At that moment, the manager arrived, shouting, "Get out of here!" She acted completely unreasonably, with no understanding or empathy. We acknowledge our mistake, but let’s not forget, we are all human. And these are just children who only wanted to play and do no harm. Have we forgotten about kindness?how you...
Read moreIf I could rate this place a zero I would, we decided to come here on a Saturday with my 9 month old very active baby due to displaying a baby/toddler area, we paid said hello to the lovely staff and after 15 minutes it turned into a war zone, even though I complained and asked the women to supervise the older rowdy children kept continuously coming into the smaller children but, a boy with a horrible mother nearly squashed my baby and when I complained not a lot was done, I don’t think it was staff’s fault but it is unsafe, over packed, kids seem to be over drugged on sugar and just not a safe place for small children. Why advertise a smaller children bit if there’s children that can play in the older bit nearly killing my child ? I would come back here in the week when it’s quieter but just really wanted a nice day out but hey...
Read moreAs a parent of autistic children, I'm always looking for disability friendly places to take my children and after reading a very immature woman's self privileged rant on facebook myself and a number of parents have now found this amazing place. The way the management responded to the ridiculous actions of someone who broke the rules then spouted rubbish about the disability act as an excuse to put other peoples children in danger and still offered her free tickets for her and her son to return was amazing. The new policy you have in place to accommodate children who need a carer with them and offer to have a member of staff if the carer is unable to assist their child whilst still keeping everyone else in the venue safe shows how truly autism friendly you are. Thank you for considering the needs of everyone so we can all be included in...
