A unique style of Italian cuisine is was you get at Goat, located on one of the best streets for eating out in Chelsea. With the restaurant on the ground floor and DJ bar on the first floor, my friend and I had an amazing night.
We enjoyed dinner on a Thursday night, and she suggested we sit by the window to enjoy the some people watching along Fulham Road.
We began by sharing the starters, each delicious in their own way. I loved the burrata, datterini tomatoe and salsa verde, as the cheese was creamy and delicate. The tuna tartare with avocado, chilli, mooli and tamari was also great, with flavours that paired well with the fish.
For my main dish, I chose the roasted monkfish, taggiasca olives, datterini tomatoes and capers. The monkfish melted in my mouth, while the mix of complimentary flavors was delightful. My friend opted for grilled rib-eye steak tagliata, 28 day aged, rocket and pecorino, and she was very satisfied with her choice.
For dessert, we just had to try sticky toffee pudding with vanilla gelato, and the vanilla and blueberry cheesecake, which we also loved. After dessert we decided head upstairs to the bar to finish our wine and try some tasty cocktails while enjoying the music.
It was a great night at GOAT, and I’d highly recommend the experience...
Read moreOverpriced, overhyped, underperforming bar/restaurant. I went here with a large group having paid £30 a head for a set menu (which was more of a £20 menu). The Goat plays on the fact that it is on the Fulham road, which instantly makes idiot customers (like the friend of mine who organised our meal) go all soppy thinking it's some high end, swanky haunt of the rich and famous. First impressions when i went in? THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD. If you think you will struggle for conversation with a date, take them here. You won't even be able to hold a conversation. Enjoy small beers? This is the place for you. They have jumped on the "less is more" bandwagon by swindling customers out of cash through serving two thirds of a pint but charging for a whole pint. Genius. I have to give it to them, they have pitched themselves perfectly, aiming at the Made in Chelsea wannabes who feel better the more they pay for drinks. Quite simply if you want value, a pleasant atmosphere, good food and professional service then avoid...
Read moreI went to the Goat restaurant with my family while they were visiting from the states, the food was very good! What I was not impressed by was the staff members. My sister has a strong gluten allergy and waitress did not even seem to know what gluten was and did not try to get anyone who would help. Also brought us water in bottles without us asking for them and when we asked to make sure we were not getting charged for them, she reassured us we wouldn't-until we get the 12 pound charge for water on the bill. Everyone else had pitchers of cucumber water around us for free so we did not see why we were the only ones getting charged. Not wanting to again ask the waitress (who we could barely understand anyway and knew she wouldn't care) we paid and left not satisfied. Felt very taken advantage of and disrespected as an American which I have never experienced before. The food was very good and atmosphere wonderful-just wish I felt more respected from the...
