Just went in there and asked to buy 100 g of a very easily cut cheese and the man serving refused to sell it unless I bought at least 150 g I have been in there before ,usually served with large and small amounts by charming and helpful girls. I hope this man is a Maverick temporary employee and that the usually good quality staff will prevail but so long as he works there I won't be going back. One bad employee can damage an otherwise successful business.
AND THE FOLLOW UP SHOWS BOTH THEIR ARITHMETIC IS AS DODGY AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW EASY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TO SELL WHAT IASKED FOR. Read moreDrove for 20 minutes to arrive just after opening at 9am only to find that there's no bread and it was expected in around half an hour to an hour, and to be honest the chap serving didn't seem to be too sure. So a wasted journey and great disappointment. One would hope that if you open at 9am you'd be pretty fully stocked. Read moreI've just got back from shopping at Jumi. It was a terriffic experience. They have an amazing selection of Swiss cheeses, goat, sheep & cow, hard, soft & blue. I tasted some & they were delicious. I ended up buying 'Blue Brain', a dome-shaped cheese with blue on the outside & creamy within. The whole process was a delight - the cheeses, the welcome, the tasting. And the shop is even accessible to my wheelchair (& therefore to pushchairs & buggies too). A real asset...
