Warning to Parents with Young Kids: Avoid at All Costs!
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my recent experience, I feel itâs important to warn other parents. This place is not family-friendly, especially for young children.
We attended a kidsâ birthday party (16 girls, ages 6-7) two weeks ago, and it was a complete disaster.
First mistake: The venue grouped these young girls with older teenage boys. This wasnât communicated to the party host, creating an uncomfortable and unsafe environment. There was no mention of this mix-up, and it should have been addressed beforehand.
Second mistake: There were only two staff members inside to monitor the kids, and crucial areas werenât covered, despite the fact we were watching via the video feed from downstairs. This lack of supervision resulted in some older boys intimidating the younger girls. Several of the girls came downstairs in tears, reporting that the boys had pushed them and called them âstupid.â Shockingly, this was not addressed by the staff.
When we approached the lady in charge to report the behavior, she was dismissive and uninterested in taking any action. Itâs especially concerning given that there was a girl of the same age in the group who should have been treated with care and respect.
The venue itself was poorly maintained, and safety appeared to be a low priority. We felt that the staff was unprepared to handle a party with young children and that our legitimate concerns were completely ignored.
After two weeks of waiting, I have yet to hear back from the team or head office. This lack of response only adds to the frustration.
If you care about your childâs safety and want a positive experience, I highly recommend steering clear of this place. It was a total disappointment, and we will not be returning. We are also pursuing legal action against the venue for their negligence.
Updated response to the business reply Thank you for your prompt response to my review. However, I have yet to receive an acknowledgment of the distress caused by the situation.
I believe the points I raised in my review were valid, and I'd like to clarify the following:
Grouping of Children As an organization, it is crucial that you consider the appropriate grouping of children. It is common sense not to group 6-7 year olds with 15 year olds. Would you personally feel comfortable with this arrangement for your own child? If there were concerns about safety, you should not have gone ahead with the booking in the first place.
Supervision Concerns There were only two college-aged staff members responsible for monitoring approximately 30 children. If your staff were truly vigilant, why did they not intervene to stop older kids from intimidating younger ones? This raises concerns about the adequacy of supervision during the event.
Live CCTV Footage It took 3 days for you to respond regarding the incident that occurred during a two-hour party. I have been informed that CCTV footage is not recorded and cannot be reviewed. If this is the case, how were you able to view the footage to respond to my concerns?
Lack of Communication I only received a response after I sent an email requesting clarification. Despite leaving my contact information at the venue, neither I nor the host received any follow-up call.
Lastly, I would like to request that my child's name be removed from any comments or communications related to this matter. I do not appreciate her name being used publicly.
As stated earlier, I do not seek any freebies or vouchers. My review is simply intended to help other parents make an...
Read moreThe quest itself is good, kids was happy, but staff is not trained and not professionals, they just don't care what is going on. If you are going to do any party there be ready to run after members of staff and ask for everything as they don't care!!!
P.S. Thank you for your reply. It was the second time we celebrated BP there. First time was before pandemic and all was perfect, I could not believe how easy it was, how nice was staff and that I am as a parent didn't had to be involved as everything was organized on top level. This time I expected the same and it was 100% opposite. Our party was on Friday 28th of January at 7pm. It wasn't busy, we were the last one and it looked like the staff were too tired and didn't want to do anything. There was one girl and the rest were male. All male used to go to the staff room non stop or sit with the laptop searching for something and our kids were sitting behind an empty table waiting for food. After the first part of laser quest I had to search for drinks for kids as nobody offered it and I think it should be as kids were boiling after all this running and of course they were thirsty. Staff were moving very slowly, like they were expecting that someone else would do it for them. There was no communication between us and the staff, I had to wait for someone to come out from the room to catch, so I could ask what was next. After VR kids had to receive a cake, that was the time when the girl/staff left and it was male team left on their own. During VR, instead of staying on the laptop team could prepare tables for cake but they didn't so kids had to wait for a cake in front of an empty table without even any plates. Parents came to pick up their kids at that time as it was already 9:15pm (as staff were too slow) and it looked so embarrassing. Finally when the kids were finishing their cakes, one member of staff came to me and asked to empty the room as they had to close down a long time ago and we shouldn't be there at this time anymore.... It sounds like we were responsible for all these delays. About our cake: are there no fridges for cakes to keep it for some time? Our cake was melted by the time we had to cut it, very...
Read moreWas so glad I thought of having my daughterâs 10th birthday at laser quest in Bromley! Couldnât have been more pleased and was such a success the whole class want to do the same party! The booking process was simple and smooth (I accidentally ordered more pizza than I needed to so that could be a bit clearer as to how much they get included in the booking anyway perhaps) but it was delicious so we took it home in a doggy bag! The experience was very well run, the kids had great fun, it was great to watch their scores ramping up on the screens and watching them on the tv monitors. Meanwhile we could get the birthday table and cake decorated - guest tables were clean and funky and she had the best party. After their laser session we enjoyed a fab tea of pizza and then we had the most amazing ten minutes each of virtual reality experience which took the party to a whole new level. They are still talking about the thrill of it three weeks later. The staff couldnât have been more helpful and obliging, clearing up after messy boys spilled their drinks or offering cling film for the doggy bag for extra pizza. Everything was on time and all staff were smiley and polite. Then, after the best party ever, we were amazed to see they had given my daughter an envelope with a free return ticket and to bring two friends! We are ensuring those friends are us as we were very envious! Fabulous experience all round thank you! Very happy...
