Went to Mittee for a sit-down dinner last night after having heard great things about it from our neighbours and was sadly disappointed with the overall experience. The food was great and couldn't be faulted - good portions, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. So why the lower score?

When we arrived the waiter who greeted us couldn't seem to understand that we'd booked a table. However, this was rectified after a couple of seconds and we were taken into the restaurant. Despite there being a number of booths available - which looked lovely BTW - and also a number of people in the main part of the restaurant (where there were also tables available) we were taken to a table that hadn't been made up and was in an area where there were no other diners. The lighting in this area was so bright and it felt like we'd been put into the overflow area - it then took ages to get a menu and despite asking for cutlery twice, this wasn't brought until our food actually arrived and we then had to wait to eat.

My suggestion to Mittee - pop out some candles (don't have to be real, the fake ones would do) and lower the lighting in the evening to give it some ambience, offer booths if they're available (or let the customer decide where to sit if possible) and make sure you give cutlery before the...

The service was pathetic. The whole experience of dining here made me feel very unwelcome and unwanted. It started from a young girl who came to us and said "yes" as we waited to be sat. There was no smile , no greetings. All throughout no attention was paid to us and we had to remind them to give us serviettes, cutlery , plates etc. the two young girls who were the waitresse completely ignored us all the way through whilst they made several visits to a white gentleman who sat opposite us. The place is well focussed on its white clientele and they were clearly uncomfortable by seeing an Indian couple in an Indian restaurant and they made sure that we came to that realization by their non existent and unfriendly(I'm being polite) "service". Me and my wife have not felt so neglected, unwelcome and unwanted.

Even in wetherspoon the waitresses have the general decency to ask how is the food, do you need anything etc.

Despite this terrible and hostile service they shamelessly added 10% SC which I felt like asking them to remove ( it is our legal right) but I chose not to as I wanted to leave as soon as possible. We got our food packed and left. Not recommended at all. When it was Madhuwan it was a different level restaurant but...

Amazing time for a birthday dinner, highly recommend!

I came to Mittee with 25 friends for a celebratory birthday dinner and from planning to the actual evening, Prachandra and the team at Mittee were great!

Prachandra helped me come up with a good set menu for the night, ensuring there would a be a wide range for people to choose from and was very pro-active in making sure I had all I needed and was ready for the evening. On the night itself, they were more than ready for us when we had arrived, having kept a separate section for us and even putting up some happy birthday banners, which was a really lovely touch. The food was phenomenal, with all my friends loving their dishes, and those with dietary requirements (nut allergies, vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant etc..) were really well catered for. I had a wonderful time, and the front of house were amazing - with a special shout out to Ash who looked over our party really well.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and a lovely venue for any type of dinner, celebration or event.

The whole evening went a lot better than I could have hoped for, and I cannot wait to go back soon! Thank you for making my birthday...

*** Great dining experience with outstanding Indian and Nepalese cuisine *** As a starter, we had Papri Chaat and Potato and Onion Bhaji which were presented in a fine dining manner and their taste didn’t disappoint either. It was the perfect size so that we weren’t too full for the main courses. The highlight - of course - was the main course. Both dishes we ordered were delicious, the meat in the Chicken Tikka Masala was soft like butter with a creamy mild sauce. The second dish (one of the Nepalese specialties: Royal Paneer) was a nice contrast to the creamy Tikka masala sauce - moderately hot and rich in spices. The portion sizes were big enough, even without the starters it would have sufficed. The garlic naan was perfectly fluffy - for my taste it could have been more garlicky, but others might prefer it like that. I enjoyed the raita a lot, it had a slight sweet taste and worked well with the main dishes. The portion of the raita could have been bigger, that is maybe the only thing I would have wished for. The service was attentive and polite. Reasonable prices for the quality of food. All in all a great experience - highly recommend.

Have dined here tonight and really enjoyed it. We easily booked online for 8 people for a Sunday dinner. There were free parking places on Sunday. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, cozy, not too busy but plenty of customers which is a good sign. The starters were beautiful. We recommend everything we tried, the chilli momos, and Kathmandu lamb momos as well as the papri chats. I like my biryanis a bit spicier but these were flavourful. The meat platters and pork chops were great, my vegetarian Thimi Tarkari (asparagus, mushroom and cheese curry) was mouth watering! All in all amazing food, was worth the wait. Thank you for a lovely time. Shall be back!

Fantastic customer service with excellent cocktails and food. I've been going to this restaurant for years and their rebranding is actually a good look, the new decor is modern and fresh which is a great fit for the menu. The food is served hot and fresh and is not swimming in pools of clarified butter. The classic dishes you expect to see are present, along with some new twists on old favourites. The cocktails are well balanced and well made. Try the Tandoori Pineapple dessert it's sweet and spicy - as in it has a chilli kick to it! A very interesting dessert and pineapple can aid digestion 🍍.
