I am a regular at this cute little coffee shop, and have been since it opened. The quality of the coffee truly is among the best in London (which has been recognised by the press), and their selection of teas is so vast it's almost overwhelming. They offer a variety of baked goods, including cake, cupcakes and more. They taste as sinfully delicious as they look- and many of them cater to dietary requirements such as gluten- or dairy-free. I've noticed they are starting to offer a savoury option during the day as well. Honestly, everything I eat or drink here feels like such a treat. The staff is kind and friendly, regardless of who is working that day. The decor is cute and quirky, and it has such a better atmosphere than any of the coffee chains which can be found around town. It's one of my favourite places to go to get work done, and with nearly all seating being within reach of an electrical outlet to plug in your laptop, there's no excuse not to. The only reasons I've given it 4 out of 5 stars is because it's a bit warm (the AC either isn't on or hasn't been working well during this unusual London heatwave), and it's a bit darker than I might personally like it inside, but that's mostly a personal preference. I only wish it was open later - like until 9 or 10 perhaps - and then I'd almost certainly get twice...
Read moreThis is a wonderful cafe. The coffee is lovely and it's a not too noisy and cosy place to come and have a chat with a friend over a drink and maybe a bite to eat. The bathroom is clean, and spacious. So many positives. However ... the recent visit showed up a small problem. I decided to get the "Cinnamon Roll", not the expensive hazelnut or pistachio but the basic. As I cut through it was HOLLOW. That's not a full roll. I took it back, had a very sensible chat with the staff, and offered a different one. I opted for the chocolate hazelnut one as it didn't look like it had collapsed like the other plain ones, and maybe the price difference was it was a different make. Nope! On cutting, the exact same hollow result. Worse still the chocolate hazelnut topping was clearly just a spread. £2.30 for an additional bit of chocolate spread from a jar? That's brought my whole opinion on the value of this place down in a massive way. Shame really. I really liked the...
Read moreSo I popped into this cafe after reading the reviews thinking it would be a great spot to do a bit of work and have some nice coffee. However, I must say I was very disappointed. Now firstly I’ll say the coffee is nice but the service was not. There is some sort of “wifi conspiracy” they have to reduce customers getting on it. I even heard and witnessed the staff talking about this. They also have a pre-made notice on the counter saying “wifi down” to deter those customers. Whatever their policy, the transparency of it is not appetising unfortunately. The other key factor is that one of the gentleman baristas was very rude in his response. All customers should be given the same level of treatment and courtesy. No doubt this will get a defensive response from the owners but I will say this is happened and is my experience and that is valid. I hope it improves as it’s a shame. I wish...
