Percy & Reed Salon — Local services in London

I’m not going to name names, but I had my hair cut and coloured in March and considering this is an expensive, high end salon I am absolutely appalled by the terrible job that was done on my hair. Firstly let me just point out that I am a very low maintenance customer. All I want is blue black all over and a blunt cut, no layers, and to keep my length. For some reason they decided to use two different coloured dyes for my roots and the lengths of the hair respectively which has now resulted in me having a red/ginger band around my head where the roots were dyed, my normal dark roots coming through and then black ends. Then the cut - instead of listening to me about not putting layers and keeping the length, the stylist razored the ends of my hair which thinned them out and cut about 6 inches off the length, even though I had had it cut only 3 months prior. And they used a pea sized amount of product even though I have very full, thick and long hair. So basically I walked out with dry, dull and short hair with uneven jagged-edged ends. Perhaps they try to cut costs and so are stingy with the colours and products they use? Either way I have now had my hair sorted out by my OG hairdresser, who isn’t in a supposedly-posh central London salon and doesn’t charge these prices. I just cannot believe that this is the quality of service you get in a place that is founded by two celebrity hairstylists. It’s a joke. A prime example that you do not always get what you pay for. Had my hair cut by the lovely Lorna for the first time a few weeks ago for the first time and I could not recommend Lorna more!

I came in and she immediately made me feel at ease. I've tried many hairdressers before coming to Lorna and none of them made me feel as relaxed or listened to like her. She listens to what you want and executes it to perfection. I don't style my hair with loads of product, and Lorna made sure the finished styling of my hair had no product so I could see how it fell with just a good blowdry and curling tongs which I really appreciated. I really appreciated how much attention to detail she has to your request and how she honours the client's individual style without forcing a style, only adding her expert insight.

It's been a few weeks since my first appointment with Lorna and I have loved my new haircut. It is for the most part very easy to style and I have had many people tell me it really suits me. I think her consideration as to how the client deals with the cut once you leave the salon is super important and I will definitely be back!

Having just moved to London a year ago, I was unsure of where to go to cut my hair and ended up with Percy and Reed because of their good reviews! And those reviews lived up to their expectations!

I was running a bit late and was kind of stressing about it, so I called and told them I'd be about 5 mins late. The lovely woman who answered calmed me down and said it was absolutely not a worry! When I came in the door I was immediately met by kind and good service. They offered to take my jacket into a closet and asked if I wanted anything to drink.

I had my hair cut by the amazing Raine. I shaved my hair off about a year ago and it was a bit messy and had tons of layers from growing it out, and I wanted a bit of shape into my hair again and for it to look like a hairstyle. Raine then came with a few different options for what we could do, and as she was cutting my hair she complimented my hair and said it looked so great. Not only did she do an AMAZING haircut in the end, but she made the experience of getting it amazing as well!
