My partner organised a night away to the Treehouse Hotel for my Birthday. He booked this hotel over any others because we also had tickets to Regents Park Open Air Theatre and it followed a theme he was creating and was within walking distance. The hotel is clean, well located and has good facilities, staff are friendly. Unfortunately it lacks the standard we expected for a 4star hotel.
On arrival we were greeted and shown to the lift to the hotel reception. We were checked into our room and immediately sat in a leak from the ceiling dripping onto the window seat that was also dangerously close to the light fixtures. We called the desk and a member of staff from maintenance was very apologetic and arranged for us to be moved - kudos to him, he was the most customer focussed member of staff we interacted with during our stay. The second room was the same, the view was nicer in the original room and the bathroom door got stuck trapping my partner in the toilet for about 5mins. I called the desk but on this occasion they did not answer on two attempts. He eventually managed to open it and we didn't use it again.
On our way to the theatre he asked staff at the front desk if the cover charge in The Nest (£50pp) was applicable for hotel guests, they confirmed it was not and offered to book us a table for our return from the theatre. We had to wait around a bit to be shown to our table and the table service was a little slow, but fair for central London late on a Saturday night.
The room rate booked included breakfast and is served with incredible views of London. The menu includes a good range of options, including veggie and vegan dishes that were tasty. It's a shame our food was not served at the same time and when it did arrive, my breakfast was served on a plate with more chips than a cookie. The waiting staff weren't attentive enough for us to change it before my partner had nearly finished his and mine was getting cold.
On check out we raised the issues we had with the room and breakfast; the front desk were apologetic and offered to discount our bill to address this, which he felt was reasonable. They confirmed they would send the final bill by email. We gave a couple of days grace for it to be sent, it never arrived and they have charged my partner's card for an amount that doesn't include any discount and appears to include additional charges for breakfast and The Nest.
If you're looking for a hotel that offers style over substance, this is your place. We're really disappointed that what should have been a restriction free celebration was tainted by poor attention to detail. He's contacted Booking.com and Treehouse to resolve this, but as yet,...
Read moreAmazing Hotel that lives up to the quality of its sisters in New York. Despite my rough booking process I am happy to say my overall stay has been well worth it and totally enjoyable.
Travel to the hotel was easy considering its perfect central location just a short walk from Oxford Circus Underground Station and even though the hotel is in fact in such a busy location it does certainly feel like a cosy escape and is nicely tucked away from most crowds being right next to the BBC and Portland Place.
Upon arrival I was taken invited to travel up to the 15th floor where I was met by a cosy and inviting lobby with amazing evening views of london. The staff checked me quickly and efficiently even with the issues and concers I had regarding my reservation which quickly put me at ease with my stay. I was pleased to realise that my keycard would only authorise access to my own floor meaning that accsess is controlled. Beware for anyone tempted to have a lift party due to the funky music though, you may be on camera ;)
My room was amazing very well presented and clean (though it is brand new) I could not get over how impressive the view was from the 10th floor room. The window seat certainly feels inspired from 1 Hotel Central Park and is a lovely addtional to the room. Handy place to sit take in the view, read, relax, eat. The only negative I could find for the room is that the windows are rather thin and thicker windows to cause better noise dampaing would have been good though at night the street was not actualy too loud. The only thing that did wake me up was the fire alarm at 2am now this was unfortunatly down to a guest deciding to smoke, I guess it is good to know the fire excauation is in working order!
I also made time to try out the bar at the Madria on the 15th floor and was pleased with the service from the gentleman who dealt with me. I didn't try the food as its not my personal taste and opted to have a sneaky pizza express (located nextdoor) in my rooms window nook. I also popped up to The Nest on the 16th floor to take in the amazing skyline views at day and night (perfect photo spot!). The views include key landmarks including the London Eye, Shard, BT Tower and Regent/Oxford Street. Well worth checking out during your say.
I certainly hope to take another trip to the Treehouse to experiance it further, I would say if you can afford this hotel at least give it a night or two to experiance it...
Read moreWe simply adored this hotel! We stayed May 2023 - my mom, 4 year old and I. We had a hideaway studio suite booked but when we arrived were upgraded to a clubhouse suite. The room was gigantic for London standards, with plenty of space for all our our many suitcases and belongings including two wardrobe closets for each of us to hang clothes and store things. My favorite part was the giant copper tub, and after each long day of exploring the city I would soak in the tub and it was glorious (bath salts even included). The large bathroom was modern and super fun with the tree up the wall- the built in shampoo, conditioner and body wash were very nice as well. The bed super comfortable, we used the hot tea set up, and the record player was a hit. One night my son slept through dinner so the hotel was able to get a pizza delivered to our room so he could eat, which was great. We had lunch at the rooftop restaurant which was lovely and scenic as well as Mexican one night which was actually really good as well. There was a lot of scaffolding and construction around the building but we were notified when booking and honestly did not bother us at all. We still had a good view of the city regardless. The location was perfect- walking distance to a million cafes, shops and the tourists sites. What separates this hotel from the numerous other options in the city is the service! From the moment we arrived, each and every employee from the door man to the staff treated us like VIP guests with respect and helpfulness. My mom (in her 70s with a bad knee) returned a few times solo and without being asked helped her with her things from the door to her room. They were always friendly and offered directions which we asked many times since it was our first visit to London. I walked mostly since none of the tube stations were stroller friendly or had lifts which wasn’t a problem since it allowed me to see the city. The only thing I was a little surprised about was the extra 10% gratuity charged at checkout but for once I would say the employees worked hard for that service charge. Also, the building is slightly confusing since they don’t own the building and only have so many floors. Check in is near the top but they do tell you where to go when you arrive and send you on your way. Overall, loved this very unique hotel and would very much like...
