I wish I could give this review a 0 star. It was aweful to experience at what point midwives could be unprepared! We met some of the best midwives (just 2 among them all) and the rest were just so inappropriately unprepared to assist, I am surprised they even got the title! My sister was asked to make an emergency appointment to induce the labour ASAP for the severe complications she was having. She called on a Tuesday and they gave her the appointment for Friday. She had to organise many things as she was travelling from far away and had another very young child to make arrangements for. On Friday morning, right when she was leaving the house she got a call from the hospital saying her case was cancelled, even tho it was an emergency case and needed to be done ASAP. My sister was put under so much stress! She had to make a million calls. Everyone said she had to rearrange everything, or deliver somewhere else, but as soon as she asked "will you take full responsibility for the consequences of this delay?" She got shouted at, and 5 minutes later she got called by the midwives and they said they agreed to take her on that Friday morning anyway. At the ward, she was then left to herself the whole day in a room, until they called her to start to induce the labour at 11PM. The whole day she was given just two bags with a sandwich and an apple (one of the bag had rubbish in it - a bitten piece of bread, this makes me think they just reuse the bags with unwanted food without even changing bags, VERY HYGIENIC!). My sister delivered the baby on Saturday morning, but I guess all the midwives just rushed away to finish their shift quickly, cos nobody did the paperwork for the certificate of birth that day. In fact, nobody did the birth certificate until Monday at noon, after many reminders! Hence, my sister was forced to stay at the hospital for 4 days just because of this! And still, fed just with the soggy sandwiches (luckily, she was able to afford buying food somewhere else each day, but that is not the case for each patient!). The cherry on top of the cake was finding a SURGICAL NEEDLE still attached to the thread with blood in the bathroom. I took a picture of it and called the nurse immediately. She then just grabbed the needle without gloves, and disappeared with it quickly. That was a huge hazard since when we found the needle, my sister's 18 months-old child was going to grab it! Imagine the shok! It has been a traumatic experience and I hope we will never find ourselves in the position to having to go to the Queen Charlotte's Hospital. EVER!!!!

Everything was Better than expected given the staff shortages/strains the NHS has been facing recently. Pre-birth the experience was amazing, staff super attentive and lovely (honestly left us in awe of them). Post birth - being sent to the Edith Dare ward
(may aswell call it hell ward) - it was an absolute disaster. Staff show little to no attention to detail, lack communication Between one another & lack duty of care (midwives they say
). I shouldn’t have to be the one seeking constant information on where we stand on our personal situation. I shouldn’t have to ask what’s going on, what’s next, when to be expected to be discharged. Honestly it’s absolutely ridiculous. Just to paint the picture, post birth they put you in one room, with 4 other women/partners who also are there with their babies
you can hear the calls, the crying, loud talking, snoring, loads of family members visiting when really, the women who have given birth should be able to rest as well as the baby
instead it’s a roller coaster of noise which induces utter exhaustion. How can you expect to recover in that environment and be in optimal condition to leave the hospital
There were cases where I would also have to ask for the midwives to ask what’s next for them to tell me about single required checks that are required when they had already been actioned - which would be news to them (hence bad communication between them). Even things like mistaking baby conditions, and adding the wrong details to your baby file ( I’m talking absolute basic requirements of the role) it’s a joke. To be told one thing and wait to then be told something completely different after, no communication after any checks, they walk away and treat the women like cattle. We are not statistics, we are living people. It hurts me to say all this as this was meant to be one of the best days of our lives but we are close to leaving on a traumatic stressful level - I can’t wait to get the Mrs home so her and the baby can finally manage to rest up (which they should have done here) instead of being held almost hostage and not understanding why the whole time & constantly having to seek reasoning. Please be careful future mothers out there, be wary.

My wife completed 40 weeks today. And sitting in chair for 12 hours waiting for doctor to see. This hospital and midwives has no empathy for pregnant women. Its so hard to understand how this hospital has outstanding rating. There is not a single moment we found that it is anwhere close to good. The midwife, we had, was threatening us to send us to another hospital which has bad rating. We were scared of her because every single time she was rude and harsh on us. Scared us. The maternity day assessment unit, they don’t even understand the meaning of emergency assessment. And asked us to wait 3 hours before a midwife can talk and do the checkup. We had a horrible experience so far. Ill keep updating my review with experience. Eventually we had to wait 7 hours to see a doctor. We are back again here, and again waiting for 6 hours already and no sign of doctor. The screenshot about waiting time is a lie.

contractions (first-time mother, it seemed to me that I was already in labor) I decided to go to Queens Charlotte Hospital (thinking that it would be better or that at least At least it couldn't be worse than what Sant Marys Hospital was) they looked at me, did a touch and told me that it was 2cm, that I had to go home and to come down when they were every 3 minutes and very painful. I went home... I was in a lot of pain... all night, I didn't sleep, I didn't eat, I was already very tired... the next day, September 28, the contractions started to happen every 3 minutes, I went down again... they looked at me. They told me that it was 3cm... that I had to wait to reach 4cm... I read that I was in a lot of pain and that I couldn't stand it at home, that the pain was already very strong and every 3 minutes (what they told me). which was necessary to go down to the hospital) I told them that I would stay there to dilate up to 4cm. This started around 3:30 pm... I started walking through the hallways... I thought they would look at me after a while to see how many cm I was... it was 5,6,7 pm I asked when they were going to look at me to see if I had reached 4cm, they told me that there was no space/bed in the living room. triage to be able to examine me, that I had to wait... the contractions were stronger, more frequent and more painful... and at 10pm... I was still in the waiting room... at this point I could no longer sit down... I felt a lot of pain and pressure...the hours were passing...I had not slept for more than 35 hours, in a lot of pain...I wanted to pee but I couldn't (the baby was already very low, crushing the bladder) it was already more than 12 pm I started having contractions every two minutes, very painful
. I started screaming from the pain with every contraction, there in the waiting room...no one did anything, no one helped me, no empathy, worse than an animal in a slaughterhouse. Almost unable to walk, I asked if they could see that I couldn't take it anymore. They told me that they were waiting to give me a hand (they never looked at me again, they let me be in labor alone until I was ready to give birth). It was 5am... 14 hours after arriving at the hospital, 14 hours on my feet with unbearable pain, without pain relievers... two days of contractions... without sleeping, without eating... very tired... the pain left me breathless, I felt like I was I fainted with every contraction, and I fell asleep standing up during the minute I didn't have a contraction. I was in labor... with each contraction my cries of pain came in the waiting room... they finally come to tell me "follow me, let's go up." I get on the lift with two other women who are also going to be admitted, I'm the only one in labor in the elevator
. I can't go out because I'm in the middle of contraction, she's waiting for me... I follow her walking to my room. He tells me “make yourself comfortable” “you have the ball here to help dilate” I try to sit up and I can't, and I can't lie down either, I feel a lot of pressure down below and in my tailbone... they ask me if I want an epidural, I beg them yes, no. I am dying of pain, they tell me that I have to wait half an hour, that the anesthetist is not here. She asks me to lie down to see how I am
. As soon as I open my legs he tells me “the baby is here, there's no time” you have to start pushing (directly from the elevator to push with my clothes on) they try to take a route on me, they do it wrong
the vua comes out and the blood comes out of my wrist It started to drip everywhere while I was pushing with the little energy left , I almost give birth on the waiting room from the lift to give birth.. after long...

EDIT: NERVE DAMAGE!!! Please do not choose this hospital for your gynaecology surgery. I had a routine operation performed by Dr Sso and Dr Stley (the consultant was Mr Yabk) years ago and I suffered nerve damage (an extremely rare complication for this type of surgery). I complained the typical symptoms straight away, but was always ignored and patronised by all the doctors I saw during follow up appointments. I made a formal complaint and they lied to me. They said there was no way I could prove that type of damaged (not true), and refused to offer me further investigations nor suggested a neurology appointment. No help at all, and left me in agony. My life ruined...2 years later, I went privately and finally got my diagnosis. Nerve damage that only occurs with surgery! My neurologist was shocked when he found out how I was ignored and lied to by the surgeons, with those clear symptoms! He said it is unacceptable from a medical professional....When I presented the neurologist's letter to the consultant, he made a ridiculous attempt at trying to convince me I must have had this problem before (which is not physically possible, as my neurologist explained). He or his assistant that day even wrote a false statement on my clinic letter, saying I suffered from this pain prior to my surgery!!!! I got them to change that, after requesting another formal investigation. Basically, when they realised I found out what they had been trying to hide from me for years, they tried to blame me for this nerve damage as if I had done this to myself, and implied that my neurologist is not good and that I should see one of their owns (who would have probably given me an incorrect diagnosis to cover them up). In the meantime, I was seeying imperial college urogynaecologists, who are from the same trust. While they also failed to tell me I had nerve damage, they kept saying to me the problem is clearly caused by the surgery and that I should see my surgeons for further investigations..They wanted me to read between the lines...Again, the surgeons were not interested and kept cancelling my appointments. Because of my medical history, they were supposed to check on me every 3 months but due to the repeated cancellations, I ended up seeing them after more than a year and guess what?! My tumour was back! It could have been diagnosed months in advance.. When I complained about the cancellations and mentioned my medical history, the officer sent me the ward manager's reply which said there was nothing she could do.. When I finally managed to see the doctors, they were so embarrassed about this negligence that tried to blame it on their admin staff!!! Don't doctors check if their at-risk patients get seen regularly??? This hospital is a criminal organisation. And should be investigated by the relevant body. Not only they damage you (probably because junior surgeons are left unsupervised), but they do not help you afterwards and do not listen to patients' concerns. And to cover up for their wrong doings, they type lies on clinical letters. I wonder what happened during my surgery, and if something was omitted from their records...If my problem had been addressed at the time, I wouldn't be in this situation now (almost unable to work)....

Worst hospital to give birth at!!! I called the maternity triage at 2 in the morning when my water broke at 41 weeks The midwife on the call asked me to come over to the maternity day assessment unit so we can do some observation and monitor baby's heartbeat. At the hospital I waited three hours for the doctor and the doctor convinced me to stay in the hospital and get the induction started as at 41 weeks the placenta isn't quite working like before and they need to monitor the baby. prioritising the health of my baby i decided to get induced and the nightmare started since 6am till 3pm in the afternoon me and my husband sat in the triage waiting area waiting for a bed space to become available in the Lewis suite ward. During that time I started having some really strong contractions and At 3 they did my CTG and asked me to wait further as there was still no bed space available. When we finally got a bed space my contractions spaced out. Got into Lewis suite at around 4 and my first dose of induction was started at 6 in the evening. It had been over 16 hours of being in pain and tiredness of sitting on the chairs around the hospital. After 3-4 doses of labour inducing medicine my very worst kind of unbearable contractions kicked in at around 3 in the morning and they came together quite quickly. I was having a contraction every 2-3 minute apart and they were so strong that i couldn't sit stand walk or talk through them. I told the midwifes on duty 2-3 times about my contractions being so close by and so unbearable but they did nothing about it. since the time I came into the hospital nobody once checked my cervix or confirmed weather it was my waters that broke or not! Around 7 in the morning when my dose almost ended and my concentration also spaced out. The doctor finally came to see me at 10 and announced since I am sitting without crying in pain or screaming in agony I must not even one centimetre dilated and they will need to put me on oxytocin drip for my contractions to actually start, So I had to wait again to get a room in labour ward, there started my wait again. We finally got the labour room at 6:30 that evening and during that time I stared having contraction again, so we waited for midwifes came around at 8 and when they saw my CTG they were surprised to see that I was having regular contractions "surprise surprise". Both the midwives were really really nice and these 2 were the very first positive thing that happened to me the entirety of my hospital stay. Waiting for the oxytocin drip my contractions were naturally becoming stronger and asked to an epidural, the epidural administration also failed and had to get epidural administered twice and even after second time I think the epidural didn't worked as I was feeling all the pains. I gave birth to my baby girl at 6:30am and right after giving birth to her I almost passed out as I felt I was going to die and turned out I lost around 2 litres of blood and my body being in stress for over 48 hours gave up. I've no idea how I survived the delivery of my baby at this hospital that even after a whole month I am...
