Our son joined StageBox after being spotted from working in Oliver at the Leeds playhouse (Thanks to Keston & Keston). We were dubious at first as was unsure if we could meet their expectations. However, we have been supported at every stage. Our reps Chloe, Joel and Heather have been super supportive. There connections in the industry seem to be better than other agencies and if you do work in the industry, you will find most of the children are with or know Stagebox.
Our son has been on Ant & Dec Saturday Night Takeaway Company Projects Batman Unmasked Commercial Ninja Turtles Commercial A Christmas Carol (Lowry Theatre) Michael Jackson The Musical (WEST END!!!)
All the above is within the space of 18 months. I do accept that we may have been lucky although canāt help but feel it is down to the brilliant management. There are many jobs that our son did not get but you we canāt blame Stagebox as they are giving us the tools to get the jobs My son has made friends that meetup online for gaming and often spot each other at auditions. Itās a big company but you will make friends.
Acting for screen Review Yes, it is hard and long but now my son gets scrips and is a very good actor (well i think haha) . I didn't understand the value until you get a self-tape (audition) and without acting for screen you realise the skills learnt. I do find his concentration lagging after an hour but it is much needed training. 5**
Vocal Training Review Very good and our son was able to make huge gains with his vocal. With the vocal side itās not just singing as they understand the science of what it takes to strengthen the core muscles in the voice. 5**
I understand you canāt please all of the people all of the time. There may be some who think I was paid to write this review š so I have added some images to backup our praise for this company. I understand the work will slowdown as our child becomes taller and voice breaks but will enjoy this moment for as long as it will last.
Final note If you are reding this review and thinking of joining I would advise being comfortable with emails, taking videos on your phone and uploading. Some of the auditions require fast action.
Thank you again Stagebox for all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had looked at Stagebox for a few years before signing up my son at Age 9 for the MT pathway and Management. He had an agent before but they didn't cover theatre, so we wanted to give that a shot and we're so glad we did.
Within a few months of being signed he received his first offer and from then on he hasn't looked back and has been in almost constant work over the past 2 years.
The studio training Stagebox provides prepares the children all for the professional world. It's split into two age groups and is quite strict, in a good way. It's very professional and they get the most amazing creatives in. The classes are taught in an industry style to mirror what it is like in the rehearsals room. This has become invaluable in casting and work environments and I always feel you can spot a Stagebox kid by the professionalism they bring to a room.
From the training and castings he's attended we've built up a wonderful network of friends and support in the industry. Everyone is so friendly and encouraging of each other and we've been to see other members in their shows and likewise they have come to see my son. It's a positive environment to be part of.
The management team are wonderful and have always been quickly on hand picking up the phone when we've had any questions or concerns. They genuinely care about their members and work incredibly hard to get them in the room and secure the best jobs through their extensive contacts.
Joining Stagebox has honestly been a turning point for my son as he has embarked on his professional career. I can't thank Stagebox and the team enough for everything they have done and continue to do for him.
My only regret is that we didn't join sooner. So to anyone reading this and possibly having the same doubts I had. Don't! Give it a go and I'm sure you will look back and say it was the best move you make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy son has been with Stagebox for over 3 years. He started training, age 8, in musical theatre classes before moving on to acting for screen classes. The training is rigorous but first class. I love the high expectations that they set the children and the community and friends he has made. He has been represented by Stagebox management for over 3 years. The management team are worldclass. Their connections in the industry are amazing and the opportunities that our son has had are astonishing. The communication is brilliant and they are only an email or phone call away. Chloe and Kirsty have supported my son every step of the way on his journey. He has had scores of auditions in musical theatre, mainstream theatre, TV, film, and for streaming platforms. He has been cast in an Oscar-winning film, the lead role in a children's TV show, a voice-over for a film and most recently a play in one of the greatest theatres in London. This has only been possible due to the support, training and expertise of the team at Stagebox. There are lots of theatre schools for children; Stagebox is certainly not the cheapest and it is very competitive to gain an offer of a place on the training programmes. However, the offer from Stagebox is second to none and I would...
