When visiting London l had decided to treat myself to have my long hair cut back into a bob. I was advised at the time of booking my appointment to have Erika cut my hair based on the haircut I wanted. I took 5 pictures with me of the haircut so there was no mistaking the style. Erika began cutting my hair in sections followed by lots of razoring. I felt at the time she was taking far to much weight out of my hair but thought surely she knew what she was doing. I asked half way through if she wanted another look at the picture but she declined. After dropping her comb about 5 times, dropping the diffuser, I was then asked to tip my head upside down to dry with the diffuser. When i lifted my head up she asked if my hair was too big left like that. I replied 'err yes' (quite honestly it looked ridiculous, had she even remembered the pictures i'd shown her???) After applying mountains of product and scrunching it up it was done (apparently). IT LOOKED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES, THE WORDS I'D USE ARE "SCALPED" "BUTCHERED" AND "HACKED". THE WORST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD. Needless to say i was mortified. I walked out to meet my boyfriend and actually burst into tears. I looked like an 80s throwback with a wet look gel perm, hardly the chic french wavy choppy bob i'd asked for. My boyfriend said i had loads of white residue all over my hair from way too much product. He suggested we go back to the hotel to wash it and try and restyle it but as we were only on holiday for a couple of days and i didn't want to waste my time there i decided to just walk around and find some toilets to go and try sort it out as best i could. I had no idea what to do long term as my hair was so thin and straggly i couldnt go get it cut anywhere else as there wasnt enough hair left. The next morning after trying desperately to get my hair to look even slightly like the picture i decided to go back to the hairdressers to speak to them about getting a refund. The receptionist James was extremely empathetic and understanding and the most professional by far of any of the Taylor Taylor staff throughout my experience. He requested a call from Elsa who i believe to be a manager. Elsa called later that day and although she listened to my concerns she was in no way empathetic or apologetic. She was reluctant to give a refund and suggested i come back to the salon. I explained i was returning home the following day (several hours away) and that i didnt have time to come back again and that i didnt want them touching my hair again and certainly didn't want anymore taken off. I said to Elsa it would take atleast 3 or 4 months to grow enough to even be able to consider another cut. Her response was to not give a refund but to come back in 3-4 months!!! SERIOUSLY, WHY WOULD I DO THAT? Finally i got a refund after Elsa blatantly ignored several texts and emails, again no apology for my haircut just told me how she'd been busy.... very poor customer service. Obviously some people love this place, personally I've had the worst experience ever. It ruined my holiday as i felt and feel i look a total mess. I am back home, with a haircut nothing like i asked, too scalped to do anything for 3-4 months minimum and no idea how on earth i'm supposed to do anything with my hair. EVERY DAY IS NOW A BAD HAIR DAY. 5 days on and i hate it more each day as i can't do a thing with it. I don't even want to leave the house it's so dreadful. Its very clearly cut wrong as the photos show shorter layers on the top, where Erika has left the top layers long and cut shorter layers underneath. I feel like an old string mop. My hair is naturally quite thick and wavy but it's now thin, straggled, limp and lifeless. NEVER EVER AGAIN.My advise is if in doubt at all, DON'T. I'm going to add to this review that it is now 8 months later and my hair has still not recovered from this appaling haircut. My local hairdresser was equally shocked at how bad it was cut and straight away said the layers were cut totally wrong. BAD HAIR DAY? BAD HAIR...
Read moreAfter having a disastrous haircut at Pimps and Pinups, I visited this overpriced establishment to get my hair fixed. What a mistake! I booked a hair cut and highlights. Paid £280. Yes, 280! You think for that money they would be scattering gold dust on your hair but no, I walked out with badger stripes and my hair unevenly cut. After revisiting the salon to express my disappointment, they offered to redo my hair. So in I go again. My hair was cut dry, not what i expected. The colour that was redone is still very poor. Doesn't blend in and i still have prominent orange stripes. I do not recommend this place unless you have plenty of money to burn. Also, when you are paying that kind of money, I do not expect a junior person to be mixing the colour while you attend to another client. No, I'm paying money for your time! I witnessed this exchange the first time round. Junior person asking in what proportion to mix the toner whilst my head was held hostage at the sink with foils in. The "director" then explaining the proportion. Junior person repeating said proportions sounding unsure. The "director" then correcting the junior and in the end who knows what went on my hair! The director is in quotes because these glorified titles annoy me. Just have some passion in your work and offer people a decent haircut. Step back and ask yourself if you are proud of your work for the amount you are charging. If I charged someone £280, i would damn make sure that it is the best haircut ever because my brand is attached to it. If I had given someone a haircut and colour like what I received, I would be ashamed and feel like a fraud. In conclusion there may well be good hairdressers in there I just got unlucky the...
Read moreI cannot recommend this salon at all. I had an appointment for natural blonde highlights and had told the colorist that I do not wish to have a toner on top. She convinced me that toners are great, so I agreed to get one (biggest mistake!). It was so busy that day (quoting the manager: this is their style of operating…um ok). The assistant dried my hair and called the colorist to tell her that I am done. The colorist did not come to check my hair, she was not even bothered to look at me as I just left. Nobody, neither the colorist nor the assistant said anything about the state of my hair. I left and went home. It was only when I came home that I realised my hair was completely blotchy and I had a grey (!!!) halo around my head. I emailed and called the salon and was promised for a manager to call me back the next day. Obviously I did not get that call, nor a response to my email. So I emailed again, just to get a sorry call from the colorist to ask me to come in again so that she can fix it. Obviously that was not in my interest and I had been promised to receive a call from a manager and not the colorist who ruined my hair. No call again the next day. Nobody cared. So I went into the salon 2 days later to show the manager the state of my hair. She pretended like it was not a big deal and said it can be fixed really easily through a quick toner, but that’s all they can do for me (so no refund, no products to take home, nothing). Wow…they make a mistake, I need to waste more time to come again and essentially ruin my hair. Plus who knows whether a quick toner fix is really the right long-term solution. I do not wish this experience or stress for anyone, therefore I can only...
