Decided to visit WatchHouse for the first time yesterday after seeing so many wonderful reviews about the place.

Unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. The cafe itself was cozy, with a nice atmosphere, but I was disappointed by the state of the restroom – it was wet and not as clean as I expected.

The service was also a letdown. The person who took our order was rude. While I was finishing up a call, my friend had already placed her order, and when I was ready, the staff member threw the tablet down on the table and gave us a dissatisfied look. When I ordered after hanging up, she pressed the tablet onto the table with a fed-up attitude. I had planned to order food as well, but after the poor service, I decided against it.

For drinks, my friend ordered the chai, which she said was decent (4/5), but my mocha was a major disappointment. I’m pretty sure a mocha is supposed to have melted chocolate mixed with coffee, but what I received was just chunks of chocolate in watered-down coffee. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Maybe it was just an off day for them, but with the poor service and disappointing drinks, I’m not sure I’ll be back...

I recently visited Watch House Spitalfields, drawn in by the overwhelmingly positive reviews I had encountered. Eager to sample their coffee, my experience unfortunately fell far short of expectations. Upon entering, I was left unattended for a full five minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence. When I was finally served, the staff member promptly took my order and payment after I specified it was for takeaway. However, my wait continued, only to be interrupted by another staff member who rudely informed me that I was standing in the wrong area. I pointed out that I had been standing there for five minutes, clearly visible, without any prior guidance. His apology was abrupt, and he proceeded to reprimand the staff member who initially served me, further contributing to the unpleasant atmosphere.

Overall, the service was cold and unwelcoming. The staff appeared visibly unhappy and disinterested in providing any semblance of customer service. While the aesthetics of the café were pleasing and my iced latte was decent, the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be returning. My visit was extremely...

4.5* - A cozy but slightly cramped Watchhouse in Spatialfields serving the usual high quality coffee with excellent service. It has a nice bit of outdoor seating- not in the best location as it’s right next to the busy high street.

I got an iced americano to go which tasted great and arrived faster than I could have a look around the place which was insanely fast. I got a glimpse of some of the food being served and it looked really good, however some of their usual pastries and cookies looked a bit flat and dull than normal.

I didn’t get a picture of it but one of the matcha cookies was pale and nowhere near as green- as if it was left out a little long.

Overall, an okay WatchHouse venue, the service was the best but the location and indoors is super cramped, that and the cakes looking left out too long which puts it slightly below the others. Criticism aside, all WatchHouses are great compared to other coffee places, this spot is fantastic. It’s a great area for coffee and you can find a few places that are...

Rustic independent coffee house with seating upstairs and downstairs. Cakes and pastries and a great hot menu too. I had a strawberry and mint smoothie was nice but sweet, coffees are really good too. Gets busy, but always a good sign. Location just outside spitalfields gives you a great start to your day During this last visit I had the Christmas hash, was to die for, being a Christmas foodie fan in particular ( I try and have as many Christmas inspired food items as I can before Christmas) it was a large portion of turkey, roast potatoes, bacon, sprouts and a red onion relish topped with 2 poached eggs. As always service and food was impeccable. Also as well as a detailed description of where your coffee comes from and the bean used they also have the same with the hot chocolate so always a surprise to have something a little different each time
